No.1 Boutique Hotel In Manila: In this small newly built hotel tucked inside a dormant building, lies a cheerful group of staff working in the Belamy House. Even though this was the hotel I was suppose to book right from the beginning, I was lured to try the Airbnb homes which all turns out to be a nightmare. As fate would have it, I came back here for 4 nights over Christmas.
Located about 10 mins walk away from the main nightlife area of Makati, in a quiet and non-congested street. While there may not be a private entrance or slope to the hotel hidden inside the lower building, the security guards and bell men are always around to help with your luggage.
Unfortunately by the time of my stay, there isn't free chocolates or drinks. But their local selection of premium chocolates and chips is certainly a unique offering and is affordable.
HIGHLIGHTS 🌿 Mattress & Pillows Soft mattress top with cushioning feathery pillows & fast warming quilts. 🌿 Rooftop Pool The rooftop as of Late December 2023 does not looks like the marketing photos which was what deterred me. There are plants surrounding the area with premium sun loungers and soft chill music. The view was unexpectedly beautiful with high rise buildings in a distant. Despite being on the 5th floor, the whole feel was 'Intimate'. Pool's jacuzzi is always on and glows from evening time. 🌿 Service Bellman always hold the door open for guest. Front desk staff always greets you if they aren't attending to someone. Every call I made for water refills are always promptly done within 5 minutes. They even remember that I asked for Camomile tea the day before but was out of stock and refilled a bunch at the next call. 🌿 Housekeeping The team of housekeepers are like a family, their joy was infectious and lovely to witness. They would even ask if you need housekeeping when you exit the room even though you just arrived yesterday.
DOWNSIDE • Noise Sounds from the walkway can be heard including voices, lift and the light background Jazz music. There are some neighbouring dog barks if you stay in the lower floor, in the middle of the hotel building.
📨 FEEDBACKS ☞ Offer soft facial tissue instead of current rough tissue which feels like a kitchen paper towel.. ☞ Press doorbell instead of knocking our doors and shouting 'Housekeeping'⎯ we can hear it inside the room from a distant. We usually turn on the 'Housekeeping' button when we leave the room, feel free to just enter. ☞ Place new pool towels and used towel basket at the 5th floor before the stair entrance of the rooftop pool. ☞ Offer 1st set of welcome tibits for free (no beer needed), subsequent can be charged. Or offer a breakfast on the 5th floor for maybe an addition of 200+ peso in the future to complete with old hotels with free breakfast.

Read moreI just fell in love with this hotel because it’s SO CLEAN! Seriously, it’s a 5-star cleanliness. From the basement parking to the rooftop pool, everything is sparkling clean. I do love it. There was almost everything we needed in the room and in the bathroom, even vanity kits and facial tissues which is not common for 3-star hotels (I would honestly give them 4 stars🤩) Service… we did have an issue with a waiter at the breakfast in Kaokee restaurant downstairs. I wish they gave him more training time and supervision cause he looked like he was not a good fit for this resto and the hotel. If he continues to work this way, there’s just gonna be a lot of bad reviews and disappointed customers. Other than this, everyone else is super friendly, accommodating and welcoming there. Do note that the parking is NOT free. We paid 400 pesos for around 24 hours. I guess it’s gonna be more if you stay longer. Also, if I stay there again, I would choose no breakfast option cause I’m a fan of Malaysian/Singaporean breakfast (Kaya toast with eggs and milk tea) but it doesn’t come with your booking, they have a separate menu for hotel guests (Filipino/kinda continental options) but Kaokee resto is one of my faves now in Makati, the food is super delicious, reminds me of our trips to Malaysia and Singapore🤩 I would just pay for my breakfast next time and choose what I really want. I would also recommend their Laksa and Salted Egg Shrimps, and both hot and iced Teh (milk tea with condensed milk), the hot one is more flavorful and delicious than the iced one. But my Mushroom and Cheese omelette was super delicious too! So was my spouse’s Longanisa. There’s one more resto you can have breakfast in, so do check the menu there. Their rooftop pool is quite shallow but it felt good to soak there under the sun surrounded by the Makati skyline. It was our staycation and it really worked out cause we felt like tourists in our own city🤩 Thanks to the staff who made it happen despite some disappointing times at the breakfast. Hope it will never...
Read moreThis review comes somewhat later than expected since it’s been over 5 months since the original booking. However the fact that it has remained subconsciously omnipresent, speaks volumes to how much we enjoyed our trip. The Belamy was one of many hotel reservations we stayed at during a lengthy stay in Asia. A work/leisure excursion spanning over 4 months was made even more memorable by the staff, environment and accommodation offered at the Belamy. So much so, that even though an original booking was supposed to see us with a one-time reservation made via booking.com, we chose to make it a main stay and returned back after travelling the islands, and then again on a round trip to Tokyo. The staff were very accommodating, helpful, communicative and dare I say after 3 months, they became our family away from home.
This was beautifully exemplified by Sherly, who graciously extended the opportunity to store our excess luggage in their lock-up whilst we still had other overseas excursions to complete. Her gesture, along with managements decision to give us a complimentary upgrade when we encountered an unexpected situation in a newly finished apartment on a yet to be completed fifth floor, speaks volumes. A true attention to the customer experience - detail and care that defines this hotel. Every kindness, big or small, DID NOT GO UNNOTICED.
I believe this hotel is ranked 3 Stars on Booking.com, contrary to the 4.6 rating on Google, so I guess the proof is definitely in the pudding. Along with the roof top pool, central location and an abundant 360º view from the top floor, It felt like a 5 Star experience at great value.
Note: if the budget can stretch, the ‘One Bedroom Suite’ will set you up very nicely after a long day of activities or work.
I can guarantee we’ll be back… much love and gratitude to Shirly, Drexter, Camile, Tim, Kahea, Ms Karla and the...
