Blue Waves Westcliff Villa — Hotel in Malay

We had a really great experience at this hotel! The staff and service was great, room was clean, comfortable & spacious, it was one of the only places in the Philippines where we actually had a hot shower!! Great wi-fi that worked in the room, good tv channels. There is a cute little pool (that was actually larger than what I imagined) and staying on the second floor, we had a great view of the ocean. Breakfast is included - it was basic but tasty - toast w/ marmalade, one egg & fruit (banana or pinapple) & coffee. They come and serve it up on the balcony which is sweet.||||I expected a large hill, but honestly it is very a steep but small hill - only a couple minutes walk! As a young person we had no problems, but would be worth consideration for someone in poor health. The hotel was closer to the beach than we thought - less than 5 minutes away. We didn't realise how lucky we were with the location - we enjoyed the quiet beach at Station 1 for two days, then saw Station 2 in the day-time - crazy busy! We walked down to station 2 along the beach in the evening, which was probably only a 10 minute walk in the sand. You can take a trike down the road, but the road is a longer route. Its a nice stroll along the ocean. Overall I think we hit the jackpot on this hotel and location, and for the price (around $50AUD/night).||||The one thing that was hard was finding the hotel. Best instructions I could give are to get to Cocomangas in station 1 on the main road (be careful, as there are a few!). Just past there, on the right hand side there is a turning. The hotel is located rear the Balabag Plaza. If you see the basketball court turn right. Then go straight, at the crossing go right then walk straight (road is inclined).

The room we got was on the second floor, no elevators. The view is not that great, since there are buildings obstructing the nice view. But the room is spacious, hot and cold water is available, has a room fridge, wifi is fast, television has a few channels (some international channels). Balcony is big (shared with the opposite room). Air condition is good(not too cold).

They gave us complimentary water when we arrived (and thats it). There is a 7/11 nearby so no worries.

Firstly, the resort is located at the uphill, so you have to walk and the area might not be too safe for ladies to walk alone or in two at night as in the summer the sky tends to get dark faster. ||Stayed for 4 nights and 2 nights the power was out and the emergency lights was shinning at us for the whole night.
