Trying a new restaurant aside from my usual go to at Shang Mall I decided on Manam.
The interior exudes luxury and comfort tho inisde dining area is too brightly lit. Inside Seating is also strange with smaller tables stuck together and longer group tables for outside. The outside feels cozier and dimmer with less harsh in-your-face lighting.
Since I was alone, the hostess insisted inside dining since it had more single table seating even if I asked for outside. She also offered seating right next to a couple drspite the place being empty with few diners. She gave me an impression that she just didnt care.
After I hesiatantly sat inside the brightly lit area I ordered my food from this very nice and friendly waitress. What a welcome treat to talk to a welcoming staff. I asked her if I could sit outside and she immediately accomodated my request.
As I was alone I ordered single servings of Bangus, Pako Salad and Garlic KangKong. All were very delicious and reasonably priced. I truly enjoyed the Pako Salad and the Bangus. The fish was crispy and delectable.
Despite the rough start, I found another place to add to my go to places. My compiments to the chef and to the sweet lady waitress...
Read moreLocated in posh Shangri-la Plaza, Manam offers a classy dining experience of comfort Filipino food. Although a bit pricey, their menu is full of popular and delectable pinoy dishes that are exquisitely prepared. However, our first time dining at this branch was less than enjoyable, as the place was full and we had to wait a while before being seated. While waiting, we placed our order in advance. One of the dishes we ordered was Gising-Gising. We failed to notice that there were two varieties of this dish in their menu. The names are slightly different ("Gising-Gising" and "Hoy Gising-Gising"), but there was no description, neither did they point it out to us. After some time, we were finally seated, and despite having placed our order in advance, it took more than half an hour before our food was served. With all that waiting, it was really disappointing when we realized that the Gising-Gising variant we ordered was not the usual one with coconut milk. Instead, they used vinegar, which we are not that fond of. Just the same, we brought it up with the staff who took our order. Only then did she point out that they have two variations of Gising-Gising. We barely touched it and left quite...
Read moreRecommended place to visit for modern take on Filipino offerings. Got in early and got an inside seat. Friendly staff and service is ok. Unfortunately the seating regime is odd. The restaurant is practically empty and yet hostess kept seating everyone next to me. Just odd and made me uncomfortable and it got very noisy very fast. As I said odd. How they loaded one section feet from me when restaurant is empty. Food is as advertised but cannot get over how they are loading the tables.
Came in a second time and the food experience was better. Try their “twists “ menu for something different and creative
Third visit and sat inside. Felt claustrophobic for some reason once they seat people next to me and felt really uncomfortable. So I requested to just move next to the glass wall and they accommodated. Tried a few more meals and fond of their “twist” offerings. A bit tired of all the eating out now but manage to enjoy enough bites and requested them to pack the leftovers.
Just can’t seem to get over how close people are seated...
