I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely stay again. However, it might not be everyone’s cup of tea. I will give you the pros and cons of staying here so you can decide if this is the place for your trip. Keep in mind that I stayed in the female dorm with for sets of bunk beds, so a max of 8 people. Other rooms might be different. Pros: -It’s the cheapest hostel we found, so we saved a ton of money. -The hostel was clean. Old, so it didn’t look great in some areas, but it was sanitary. -The location is great! It’s right downtown, and it’s walking distance from so many places, including bars, restaurants, etc. -The hallways were very cute with the tiles. -The shower worked fine with plenty of hot water. -The staff members are very nice! Cons: -You get what you pay for: the room was nothing fancy, and I was in a female dorm with bunk beds. -There was paint peeling from the walls, but it was just cosmetic. -The bathroom wasn’t horrible, but our roommates wouldn’t turn the faucet all the way, and ended up leaving water running 🙄 -My biggest complaint was that the toilet lid wouldn’t stay up; it would fall on your back or slam closed if you weren’t sitting. It was just really annoying. -It’s convenient that it’s in the middle of the city, but that also means you get the noise on the streets of the people walking and talking after the bars. If you’re someone who goes to bed early, you should bring earplugs if you plan on staying here because the windows don’t block the sound. -We had to pay with cash and couldn’t use a credit card, but there is an atm right across the street. -It was hot, so we wanted the window open for a breeze, but people were loud outside so we couldn’t sleep with the window open. We didn’t use the kitchen or the common areas, so I cont really say much about them.

PLEASE DONT stay herE! i'm not really picky especially when it comes to hostels for around 10€ in Europe! But this is not a hostel, it's a homeless Shelter, and they are sleeping together with the tourists in the dorm! Everything was so extremely dirty, bed sheet was of course used and the rest you can see on the pictures! FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A WOMAN, PLEASE NEVER STAY HERE AND PAY A LITTLE BIT MORE SOMEWHERE ELSE! This bad place shouldn't be on Booking and Hostelworld, I never saw a more dirty place in my life and I went to a few hundred hostels in my life! I hope they shut it down soon!!

This was one of the worst hostel experiences I've ever had. There was an old tube TV hanging loosely from the wall. The room was unbearably hot and humid, with no proper ventilation. The walls and ceiling had brown stains that looked like feces, and there was a constant foul smell throughout the entire hostel. Worst of all, the bed had bedbugs – we ended up sleeping in our own sleeping bags because we couldn’t bring ourselves to use the provided bedding. This place is not just dirty, it's completely unsanitary. I would not recommend it to anyone.

I have stayed before at the White Butterfly in the year 2016 and 2017 under eye found it very comfortable and well appointed. I in fact stayed for a period of about a month and found the place to be very good value and in an excellent position in the center of town. Eight years on however it is a totally different kettle of fish. The kitchen was quite disgusting and the cooker looked as though it should be condemned as it hadn't been properly cleaned for what looked like years. In the time I was there this time the floors and surfaces were never cleaned properly and there were not sufficient plates nice and forks to be able to use the space effectively. My main issue however was that I got eaten alive by bed bugs which seemed to know my last knight of stay and attacked me then. 637 bytes later a trip to A&E in the UK Andy biotics and what looks like weeks of antihistamine and chamomile lotion to try and get rid of the scars. This therefore makes it terrible value for money because of the health risks and I urge any self-respecting traveler for business or pleasure to try all alternatives before this one because it is now so poorly run and it really shocked me. Standards have slipped since covid and there is clearly less abundant tourism in a town I remember once thrived. How terribly tragic because the place still has so much potential. While I was there I felt compelled to help tidy the garden because the employees are simply too lazy to do so and want anything for a quiet life which includes not cleaning the rooms appropriately authorally and not taking appropriate care for health and safety in the kitchen. I emailed the staff to complain but nobody has had the decency to respond and even apologize which shows the measure...

I stayed 2 nights with a friend and we enjoyed our stay. We were scared by the negative reviews, but they must have made some changes since then because everything was great. We stayed in a private room, which was cheaper than getting 2 beds in other hostels. The room and bathroom was clean, the bed was comfortable and we also got towels. Shower was great, there's hot water and good water pressure. The WiFi was good and working everywhere. Reception is also open 24/7, we arrived late at night and left early in the morning, we didn't have any problems. Also we asked if they had an hair drier we could use and they gave us one. Also lots of people complained about the place being very noisy at night, but we found the opposite actually. It was really quiet and anyway everyone should get eat plugs when traveling in hostels 😅 Overall for what we paid this place really deserves 5 stars. Hope this review is gonna convince other people...
