WARNING - BED BUGS!

Our stay at Boemio was extremely disappointing. We discovered a bed bug in our room and reported it to the front desk immediately. Despite this, we were left waiting for hours with no clear communication from the staff. We had to wash all of our clothes at our own expense, and no one offered to move us to a different room or assist us in any way. By the time we came back from laundering, an entirely new staff was at the front desk - she had NO idea what we were talking about & said no one informed her about the bed bug issue. She then simply gave us their business card to find a resolution via email. We felt helpless and ultimately checked out to find another hotel last-minute.

The hotel later claimed that they brought in an "expert" to inspect the room, but this was several hours after we had already checked out, and they never informed us of their intent to do this. When we asked for a refund, we were told that we didn’t wait long enough or speak to the “right” people, even though we were never given any guidance on who that would be. The implicit takeaway message here is that it is the guest's responsibility to manage and follow up on any issues, including waiting around indefinitely for a resolution.

To top it off, part of their response was, "There were no bed bugs in your room, it was just a small bug that may have entered through the window or come with the luggage, sometimes it can happen." The amount of gaslighting contained in one email and ignorance of the seriousness of the situation and our concerns is appalling.

The way this issue was handled was unacceptable. I would not recommend staying at Boemio based on...

Avoid at all costs – scam-like behaviour and unacceptable staff.||On May 22nd at 7:45 PM, I arrived at Boemio FLH Hotels to find the front door locked from the outside. There was no note, no instructions, no staff present. I rang the bell repeatedly and called the hotel — no one picked up.||After more than 15 minutes standing outside in the cold, exhausted from travel, a staff member finally showed up at 8:03 PM and opened the door without a word of apology. When I expressed that this was not acceptable, he argued with me and claimed it was “normal” because his shift starts at 8. Not even a glass of water was offered. Instead, I was met with rudeness and gaslighting.||This man, who worked the evening shift on May 22, is unprofessional, disrespectful, and completely unfit to work in hospitality.||For €800, I received stress, cold air, and zero service. There are many better hotels in Lisbon — do not risk...

We were so pleased with this hotel during our stay in Lisbon. Our room was built into the old brickwork which was exposed and looked out onto the square - was gorgeous. Shower and amenities were great, no complaints there. Also the bed was massive and super comfy. Location wise it’s right by Rossio square so very central and also worth noting it’s not up any hills! The breakfast was good, pretty standard continental offering but you could get scrambled eggs. The staff were very helpful whenever we needed anything. Plus also, the complimentary port and cakes were a nice touch. Would stay again when in Lisbon next!

Boemio FLH Hotel in central Lisbon ticks all the boxes in terms of what one would usually expect from a centrally-located 4-star accommodation. Impeccable service, rapid & stable internet, lovely spacious suite with a good view, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, and fantastic location, with some of the city’s key landmarks such as the Arco da Rua Augusta just 10 minutes away on foot. They also offer free pastries including pastel de nata to guests. The free breakfast that came with our booking was really tasty too. Boemio FLH Hotel in Lisbon is a really high standard hotel and the value for money is excellent!
