Lisbon was one of the more expensive places I visited on a recent trip for accommodation. The Lx SoHo Boutique Hotel (not to be confused with the LX Boutique Hotel) looked like it was good value.||It's on a major road which my room faced. I was pleasantly surprised by the effectiveness of the windows and had no problems with sleeping. My room was compact with a very large bed for the room. It had a good Panasonic air conditioning unit, a fridge and room safe. I was only using it for web browsing and a bit of YouTube but the Wi-Fi was clearly one of the best I've used in a long time!||Breakfast is 10 EUR. There was a small selection of pastries, nice sliced fruit, a coffee machine, cereal, and a few cold meats and cheese. A little basic but very convenient and I ended up using it every day to maximise my time exploring Lisbon.||Very easy to get to from the airport. The airport is very close to central Lisbon and the Metro provides a quick, cheap convenient route into the city. Take the Metro, change from red to green at Alameda and then onto Anjos station. Two minutes walk and you're there. A bank card can be used for Metro journeys. The metro can also take you to Oriente which is useful for trains to Porto and the local Aquarium.||There's a Continente supermarket on the road about ten minutes walk downhill from the hotel. Not sure if that's the nearest but it was convenient on the walk back to the hotel.||The area felt safe to me. There is a collection of tents around a church a few blocks south, the dwellers there seemed to keep themselves to themselves. I walked past that every day as the fine weather tempted me into walking around Lisbon.||Friendly and...
Read moreI recently stayed at this hotel and was very impressed with the overall standard. The room was spotlessly clean, modern, and extremely comfortable. The entire hotel felt well-maintained and welcoming, making for a pleasant and relaxing stay.||Unfortunately, the breakfast was a real letdown. While the quality of the food itself was good, the quantity left much to be desired. Items ran out quickly—particularly the fruit, which was surprising given there's a store right next door. Hot food like scrambled eggs and bacon was brought out in small batches, meaning guests had to wait, and when it did arrive, there was a rush to grab some. It felt almost as if the food was being rationed, which made for a stressful and disappointing start to the day.||It's such a shame, as the breakfast experience really took away from what was otherwise a very enjoyable stay. With just a bit more attention to replenishment and quantity, this hotel could easily offer a truly...
Read moreWas looking forward to our stay here. Upon date changes to my trip I tried to cancel the hotel booking. It was non refundable so I requested for a change of dates and was willing to pay for the difference in date change. The hotel denied the refund, AND denied any date change because the new dates didn't have a non refundable room despite still have refundable rooms. I asked if I could pay the difference and was fine if they made the room non refundable thereafter date change. Hotel was not flexible nor wanted our business. We were left with option 1. Forfeiting our booking with full lost of cost and 2. Finding dates (despite not living there and trying to book 6 months in advance mind you) that had "non refundable" rooms when they had "refundable" rooms available (despite paying difference AND accepting of the hotel if they gave us a "refundable" room and turned it "non refundable". They wouldn't accomodate at all. Horrible...
