We spent one night here in a very small, very clean room (#6) on the lower floor of this new building. We had booked a "deluxe room" but this was definitely NOT deluxe. Furnishings included a double bed, sofa, mirror behind which were five hangers, and a window with a terrific view of the bridge, river, and Oporto on the other side. The unusual bathroom had a shower "room" on the left and a separate toilet "room" on the right with a sink in between both. Each of these rooms used a motion detector to turn on the light, meaning one could not leave a light on overnight. Also, the door to the shower room did not close completely and we did NOT shut it, since if we could not open it from the inside, there was no way to resolve the problem other than finding someone to smash it open. (Do NOT shut it if you are alone!) Wifi was weak and the lighting was very poor with only one light near the bed and one on the side wall. On the main floor is a bar, outdoor patio with wonderful views, and breakfast area. Breakfast included fruits, sweets, cheeses, meats, breads, and coffee. Service was very pleasant. We would stay here again IF we got our deluxe room, which we had paid for.||NOTE: do NOT attempt to drive here. Park in the nearby public lot (at Estacoinamento Luiz 1) and walk up the hill to the hotel. There is construction along the way. We were able to walk into Gaia and to Oporto...
Read moreWe’ve just returned from a 7 day stay in Bridge-It, and everything was perfect. From the moment we arrived, we felt very much at home and very well looked after. The rooms have an amazing view of the bridge and the river - we stayed in Room 3 which was huge for the two of us. We also had the added bonus of double sinks and had a shower each in the bathroom!|Our room was cleaned every day with fresh towels and toiletries etc. We had washed some of our clothes after a few days, and when we came home everything had been hung up for us on a little washing line in our room! Such a nice thoughtful touch. |We also received a much welcomed bottle of port wine on our 2nd day from the lovely owner of Bridge It. She had a smile for us every morning, and we had plenty of little chats along the way.|Breakfast was really great with lots of attention to detail - fresh fruit, breads, and cheeses every day, along with yoghurts, seeds and nuts, meats, cereals and pastries etc etc. This can be enjoyed on the fantastic terrace that overlooks the river and bridge.|The entire place was really clean. There is also a small kitchen downstairs near the bedrooms where you can make your own tea and coffee, and there is also a fridge and microwave for your use.|We will definitely return again to Porto and to Bridge-It Suites! Definitely one of our fav places...
Read moreBreakfast was standard continental stuff, but very nice and plentiful. Self service buffet style from 9 till 11 but the amazing staff would accommodate an earlier time upon request. I really can't state how much they, particularly Marisa, wanted to do for us, they went beyond the call of duty on many occasions to ensure our stay was perfect. I travelled with my 13 year old Son to watch a football match and we had the family room which would be excellent for a couple with 2 young children at a good price. I am not overstating it to say that all I have previously mentioned coupled with the amazing views across the river made for the perfect trip and has us planning to hopefully return to Oporto one day. Our visit was part of a trip through Madrid but Oporto and this hotel was definitely the highlight. We can't thank them enough for...
