Nostalgia OldTown CityCenter Hotel — Hotel in Bucharest

We stayed at the Nostalgia Old City Center Hotel, and it was a truly fantastic choice that became a highlight of our trip.

The location is absolutely perfect, situated just by the walking center, which meant we were in the middle of all the action but were still able to retreat to a peaceful sanctuary. This beautiful building, with its roots stretching back to 1906, has an incredible, almost tangible great feel to it that you notice the moment you walk through the door.

It radiates a kind of old-world charm that makes you feel like you've stepped back in time in the best way possible, a wonderful escape from the modern hustle of the city. For those traveling by car, a very helpful tip is that you can park it in the Universitat underground parking, which is a short walk away.

Navigating the old city with a vehicle can be a challenge, so having this convenient and safe option right nearby made our arrival and departure completely stress-free.

The historical charm, however, is matched and even surpassed by the staff. They are so incredibly kind and accommodating that they truly make the hotel feel like home. When we asked for an extra bed, they were able to provide it without any charge, which was so generous and helpful.

When we had a problem with the AC not being quite enough to cool our big room, they went above and beyond, not only working hard to get it just right but also bringing us extra fans to make sure we were completely comfortable.

Their genuine concern and effort were so appreciated and made all the difference in our stay. They truly made us feel like we were being looked after, not just as paying guests, but as valued friends.

It’s rare to find a place that so perfectly blends a wonderful atmosphere with equally wonderful people. We would absolutely, without a doubt, stay here again and truly recommend this hotel to anyone who values a place with real character and staff who go above and beyond. This room is located on the 8th floor of a decrepit, tall round building. The nearly deserted building has been identified as a hazzard in case of earthquake and as such bears the round red Romanian warning sign. I booked this room in October 2023 and the posted location pictures were and are very deceptive. See actual pictures below.
