We were doing a girls tip to sri lank and this was our final destination before our trip back home. We had spend 16 days in hostels and locals home and it was always amazing. But we decided to go to a hotel on the last few days so we could enjoy the comfort, the swimming pool and the facilities and we decided to stay 3 nights, let's just say that we left on the 2 day cause of the conditions the hotel was providing us. We had major issues in our stay such as:|1 - we didn't have water- we arrived late on the day we checked in therefore we didn't check if we had water in the room, the following day we went to the beach and when we returned we realized not only we did not have hot water but we didn't have water of any type. I went to speak with the night auditor to find him shirtless in the swimming pool area, I told him that we did not have any water and asked him if he could fiz it. They told us that we needed to wait 5 minutes and hen we could use the water. We waited minutes and hours and still not water, we decided to go to sleep and to try again in the morning. So we tried once again in the morning and we still didn't had water. ( in case you are wondering he hotel was empty, we were the only guests therefore no one was using the water except us )|2 - the door knobs - in case of an emergency you should be able to leave your room quickly... well that won't happen in this hotel... every time we tried to opened the door of our room we got the door knob in our hand and we couldn't leave the room. I lost count of how many time this happened to us and how long we waited in the room until we were able to get out..|3 - the Wi-Fi - when I read the description on this hotel it clearly stated that they had high speed wifi. Well forget about using the internet when you are in this hotel. You cannot have access in the room and in the reception area. The only place you can have a little bit of wifi is in the lobby an the living room and make sure you use Mosquitoes repelente because you are going to be attack by them. So for me to be able to go to the internet I got 10 mosquitoes bites.|4 - the employers were way too friendly. There were two guys working in the night on the hotel and they were sleeping in the room next to us. In our first night one guy asked me to go to the pool with him and there following day he followed my friend to the door to our room and asked for her fb. Also we're asking if we were married or had boyfriends and they were not professionals at all. That made us feel extremely uncomfortable.|We complained about this to the manager the following day and of course he apologized for not having water and told us he could give us another room and they would try to fix the issue and regarding the internet he said : "its your phones problem my dear".. let's just say we decided to leave and we paid for 2 nights, thy wanted us to pay a service charge, which we refused considering that we didn't even had a basic necessity such as Water.|I usually don't complain, specially because I do work in this industry, however I feel the need to advise people regarding what happened to us. Hope...
Read moreIt was a good stay on a long weekend. Traveled by train to Galle and got into a tuk and the tuk guy was familiar with the hotel name. It is 3 minute drive from the town and completely hidden on top of a small mountain road. It was very convenient to visit Galle fort at night, Unawatuna beach & Turtle conservation centres etc. because of the location. A tuk guy named 'Ananda Uncle' is ready at a call to support you to go anywhere you want. (Charges are minimum compared to the other tuk guys)||The hotel is very simple in every way and the outlook as well as the interior shows the simplicity of their concept to achieve maximum relaxation within a lower budget. The management has taken over by a new party recently and they were there to administrate all facilities by themselves.||The food is good, especially the BBQ at poolside. The main restaurant is opened to a urban landscape along with the pool and freshly prepared food served directly from the kitchen which can be observed from the dining tables. Restaurant opening times are not limited and food can be obtained at anytime upon the request. Breakfast was the best treat I had at Harbor winds; Milk Rice, String Hoppers, Red Chicken Curry with Coconut Sambol, the mouth watering combination.||Team consist with young, energetic and friendly people which has a smile on the face at anytime. Specialty of their service is very unique and individually catered to everyone without a regret.||Rooms are fully equipped and good. Toiletries has been provided as promised. Atmosphere is very much convincing as expected.||It is a good place to stay as well as on a low budget. Hope they can keep up the smile delivered throughout our stay. Restaurant menu should be upgraded and new management has the concern of launching new food series.||Thumbs up for...
Read moreWe booked this place via Airbnb, after arriving we realized that they have 2 villas and we got the villa which is a bit far and has no pool or sea view, we told manager we would like to change and give us place in the villa with pool and sea view and they fulfilled our wish.||This is a brand new and beautiful place, you really would not feel that you are at a hotel rather you would feel you have a whole villa to yourself, rooms are amazing with nice big bathrooms, at least my room Teal had a huge bathroom.||The staffs are very courteous, they made us yummy English breakfast and also made us authentic Sri Lankan breakfast.||The only draw back through out your stay they provide only 2 free water bottles but the manager was honest enough to inform they are new into the business and still learning the traits. he wanted us to speak to the owner if we needed a discount and was very sure we would not have to pay for the extra water bottles, we skipped it because they were already too sweet.||This place is not very far from the fort area, tuk-tuks are easily available also you can hire bikes to roam around the city.||I will certainly stay here again, if I...
