It's a convenient spot to start your journey from Interlaken Ost railway station throughout Jungfrau region, with beautiful villages like Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen. This place includes 3 areas: Riverlogde with separate wooden rooms, camping area and area for the trailers. We spent 5 nights in Riverlodge in August, renting a wooden room. Riverlodge area includes separate kitchen and area with the dining tables. The biggest problem is that this kitchen area and dining spots are used mostly by the camping guests who are not allowed to use it by the rules of this place, and inevitably this results into the condition that the kitchen is permanently occupied. The guests who stay in the Riverlodge have to be prepared that their facilities will be overused by the campers, and therefore from time to time you will not be able find a place to have breakfast or dinner. Same is true for the bathrooms and showers, be prepared to not have the hot water most of the time because campers will use these facilities ( by the way just to make it clear, they have their own showers but they rarely use them because Riverlodge ones are better ) The staff are aware about this situation but don't want to put things in order. To sum up: I wouldn't recommend to stay in Riverlodge rooms but I definitely recommend to stay in camping: you pay 10 time less than Riverlodge and using all facilities of Riverlodge for free: very conveniently, since its Riverlodge guests pays for...
Read moreWe are so happy staying here at Riverlodge. It is about 10minutes walk from Interlaken OST station which can bring you to other places especially to Jungfraujoch. It is also 5 minutes walk to the station going up to Harder Kulm. The place also is just minutes walk to the restaurants and some travel agencies if you want to book activities in Interlaken. We stayed at Bungalow room and I can say that was really a good experience. The room is just nice for 2 persons and there is still space for you baggages. There is a heater inside that you can use especially at night when it's very cold. The toilets and shower here are public but it is a no problem at all because they keep it very clean. The view here is superb. In front of the Riverlodge is the river. Service here is also good, they are helpful to your needs. I will definitely stay here again if I go back...
Read moreYou really cannot expect too much from a campsite. If you are looking for comfort this is not it. A hotel would be better. The mattresses have dipped and the blanket has a musty smell. Shared toilet and bathroom are clean most of the time but cleanliness is not as good in the morning or evening during peak period. During summer, a lot of people will camp in the garden so it can be quite noisy. If your room is facing the garden, then you are quite unlucky. We were woken up by the talkings of the campers at 5.30am during one of the nights. There were a lot of houseflies in the kitchen as well. But if you are able to accept a basic accommodation with an affordable price point, then this is for you. The location is good and comes with a great lake view. There are no fans or AC but the weather is cooling enough at night. Receptionist was helpful so that was...
