Chalet Beizli — Restaurant in Interlaken

Stopped for dessert. The outside veranda was half full at 20:30. The owner? said something to me, and when I did not understand, made comments to those seated by him. The waitress seated me inside and indicated to me to sit in an alcove with three place settings. None of the other tables had settings, and were long table/benches. No one was seated at any of them. There were only 4 other people inside. The man who spoke to me at the reception station came in and asked if I was a party of three. I replied one - he then pointed to a spot at one of the table/benches with no setting and told me to sit there. Then he held his hand up, snapping his fingers and said “money, money, money.” I got up and told him I would go elsewhere. He talked after me as I left. If you wanted menus thrown to you at the table and asked if you could afford to buy drinking water or not and even getting your bags moved without asking and placing it in the ground roughly then this is a place you need to visit. I couldn’t agree more with the rest of 1-2 stars comments but hey, it’s the reality. Even though we didn’t under the language we could tell that the man was talking about us to his other guests. Mind you the 80% of the restaurants were Asians, don’t know why we are supporting this kind of F&B business for ? But I still have to give a 4 star for the flavours of the food, so that’s about the only good thing that came out of this place. My husband and I wandered around the area, looking for something that really matched what we were craving, and we stumbled upon this charming little spot. The moment we walked in, we felt the cozy, welcoming vibe.

My husband ordered the liver plate, and I went for something lighter, the spring salad with grilled shrimp. Both dishes were absolutely fantastic! I’m not usually a fan of liver, but his dish completely won me over. The salad was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and the shrimp was cooked to perfection.

We’re pretty picky when it comes to dining out since we both cook well at home, but this place truly impressed us. Honestly, I’d come back to Interlaken just to eat here...
