Interlaken Ost — Local services in Interlaken

Main station that connects you to further places afield in Switzerland such as Bern, Lucerne etc. So if you are staying in Interlaken West which is one stop away you will usually need to travel one stop here before catching your next train to your destination.

This is also where you catch the train to Lauterbrunnen for your Journey to Jungfraujoch. After Launterbrunnen, you catch a train to Kleine Scheidegg and then take the Jungfraubahn to Jungfraujoch which makes one stop in the tunnel at Eismeer lookout point for 5 mins before continuing the final journey.

From here you can see the Harderbahn for Harder Kulm. There are toilets and shops to buy...

I received horrible service at the train station ticket counter for asking a simple question of whether the platform number was correct for my electronic ticket. The amount of impatience, sarcasm and overall I’m better than you arrogant attitude of Swiss people is something I will remember from visiting this country. This and the overpriced bland food.

To the lady at the counter... maybe a little more humility and a little less sarcasm would serve you well.

Just terrible... to think I actually speak perfect English, imagine some other poor international travelers, I do not think they would have been helped at all with...

No lifts as seen on other platforms like BERN Zurich Geneva. Interlaken in a centre of tourism and tract between Spienz and Interlaken is mostly used and in last 7 days I noted heavy traffic particularly at 5 to 7 pm andtrain numbers are less . Interlaken OST to Spiez need nore trains. Many a times particularly in may June July when tourist are more , needed more train between Spiez and Interlaken...
