The hotel is old...i mean really old, i don't think there have been renovation for a long time, you open the door with a big metal key like from 1950 , this is suppose to be a 4 stars hotel ??????
You can ear everything and anyone walking on the other side of your door, making you think you are in a friend house with no privacy.
The tv seem to have been added few year ago since its in a corner of the room right next to the bed, you can't watch it, not possible, why didn't they mouted it to a wall ???
The windows seem to be made of paper because if you are on the train station side you will ear every train, i think they stop around midnight but not sure.
The decoration of the room is really dated, the only thing recent seem to be the toilet and water faucet, one step in the bathroom and you are in the 70' , i forgot to take a pic but you get the idea, big flower on tiles.
What is lacking in the room.
There is NO mirror in the room only one in the bathroom, there is no electrical outlet on the side of the other bed, not even one on the next to the desk (see the picture).

The restaurant
I order some carbonara for diner, they are suppose to be with cheese and bacon, there was cheese and when i asked for parmesan they brought me some so no complain there.....but bacon ? Its like they took a finger nail of it and slice it to the maximum, i am not kidding, all the piece had the size of a 3mm square...yes 3 millimetre not centimetre, i thought they were oignon or something.
Breakfast was fine with enough food for my taste, and good service.
The staff
The staff is really nice, and i guess they could be the only reason i would go back if needed
The location
Its perfect if you need to take the boat in the morning without the hassle of taking a bus or train to get there
Getting to the city is only 20 minutes walking or fewer with bus or train and the hotel give you pass to use freely the buses and train...
Read moreI was aware there was no air conditioning; however, the room had no air circulation. We opened the window (even with the train just outside and cigarette smoke from the balconies of other guests) when it was 55 degree F and it was still hot and stuffy in the room. The fan provided was very small. We stayed there with our 6 year old and we emailed the hotel regarding the cigarette smoke that was constantly coming in our room. Their response was to talk to someone at the reception desk. When I spoke to the reception desk, they had no resolution other than telling me it was going to be a cool day so there was no reason to have the window open. I asked for an extra fan to help and they still insisted it wasn't warm enough that day for another fan. It was going to be very warm the next day though so I was able to convince them to provide us another fan. That fan did not function well. I really don't understand what people are talking about regarding the great breakfast. It was sub par at best. In fact, we went to the coop not far from the hotel to eat breakfast for a very reasonable price and it was excellent. Way better than the breakfast provided. My family tried to get a room at the hostel (which looked way nicer) not far from the hotel even though we had already paid for our 4 night stay to get one good night of sleep; however, they were booked. We ended up paying for 4 nights but left after the 3rd. The vynal shower curtain kept sticking to your body in the shower making it very unpleasant to take a shower. Getting in and out of the shower was risky because of how slippery it was. I even fell once. The carpet was badly stained. The safe in the room was attached to a REMOVABLE shelf in the closet so we couldn't use that. The outlets did not hold plugs very well so our electronics would randomly stop charging. I expected more for the almost $400/night we paid. This hotel is in desperate need...
Read moreWe had to call booking and the police to be let in after paying our stay IN FULL since the person on the phone hung up on us and left us outside in the rain with a baby at night for not wanting to pay more through an outside and suspicious link.
We booked our stay through booking and paid in advance before getting there, we spent the day working in the mountains and arrived quite late, at night, under the rain with a baby to find the place locked and empty, with nobody around and no instructions left. We call the number on booking and they were speaking spanish and controversial stuff about politics and Israel, and told us they were not letting us in because we did not pay extra money through a link they sent us. I asked if she was joking, that I had already paid the full stay in advance and was outside with luggage and a baby under the rain, and asked her to let us in and after we could see if there were any extras outstanding. She hung up the phone on us and switched it off! Who leaves someone with a baby under the rain at night especially after having paid for THE FULL STAY? We had to call the police and booking, who told her via email, since she was not picking up the phone, to either open the door or get a fine and be forced to reimburse all the money.
Shortly after paying the extras, last night at 2 AM, my credit card had a fishy charge of more than 3000 dollars that was luckily not accepted by the bank and had my card canceled.
Someone should really look into this because this is not just highly unprofessional but not acceptable and not compliant with any basic Swiss standards.
This is totally...
