Stayed here for 4 nights in February and had a great time. The hotel is truly beautiful and extremely relaxing. Our room was cosy and well equipped with a view out the window of the Matterhorn. The location is extremely good -- about 100m to the chair lift, unusual in Zermatt which is well known for not being 'ski-in, ski-out'. I also thought that our stay was really good value -- peak season, excellent skiing access, breakfast served in the room and access to the spa facilities - awesome. More detail below:
Location: The hotel / suites are located at one end of Zermatt near the matterhorn express lifts. As already mentioned, getting to the lifts was a quick 5 minute walk, and the lift serves the whole of the Zermatt ski area and also allows easy access over to the Italian side as well. On the way back, you take a red run that actually goes within 50m of your hotel but you can't get up to it so you have to ski down a bit further and walk for 5 minutes back up the hill (still pretty convenient but it would be even better if they added some steps to get to the hotel from the ski run! Speaking from experience, I do not recommend trying to clamber up the steep snow covered hill only to appear at the top and scare thepeople in the hot tub). Getting into the center of town and the main high street is a 10-15 minute walk but it is doable, a taxi from the center of town to the hotel will cost you around 20CHF. So basically if you're coming for the skiing and don't mind a bit of a walk to get to the heart of the action, then it's perfect. If you want to go out partying every night you may want to get somewhere closer to the center.
Food: The suite-hotel doesn't have a restaurant or bar, but it manages to get around this. All the rooms are equipped with a little dining table, and you can order drinks to your room or to the lounging areas of the hotel. It also has a terrific system whereby you fill out a form the night before with what you want for breakfast and the time you want it, and they bring it to your room at that time. This is really a special treat. The only downside that we found was that the food wasn't particularly good -- there wasn't anything wrong with it, I just felt that the ingredients weren't as nice as they could be. They do a couple of simple options if you want a light meal (e.g soup), and it was really nice to be able to order this, and then have a night in.
Rooms and decor: Fantastic. This hotel is really beautiful. It managed to achieve both a sense of modern design while still feeling cosy and comfortable. We had a room in the eaves of the hotel so there was beautiful sloping wood ceilings. The room was designed in a studio style, so there was one large room with a bed, a small table for breakfast and a bath / vanity area (there was also a small room for the toilet) -- this would therefore likely not be suitable for small children due to the lack of privacy, but for a couple it was quite romantic. The room also had a view of the matterhorn which you could see when you woke up in the morning. The only negative about the room was that the curtains let in a bunch of light in the morning and the room had quite a few windows, making it hard to sleep in.
Spa and Wellness: I'd never before experienced a flavored shower in a spa, but it was quite a nice and novel experience, in addition to this they have a bunch of other great features -- a finnish sauna, a steam room, an ice grotto where you can drop ice cold water and snow on your head (if you are so inclined), and a pool. The best thing however was the hot tub outside, with a view of the matterhorn -- truly breathtaking. I had a massage one day in the hotel which I thought was a bit average so probably wouldn't recommend, but apart from that it was great.
Service: Good. I found all the staff to be friendly and efficient. The hotel has a nice family feel to it which is reflected in their customer service. I also thought the taxi included in price from the train station was a good added bonus. No...

We do not wish to receive a response from the hotel or to be compensated. The above is all genuine feedback from me. It is the worst hotel we have stayed at during...
