I wasn’t impressed, the booking allowed for 7am check in. However when I arrived after 13 hour train the bed wasn’t available. I requested a bottom bunk they said I could get a bottom bunk in the all female dorm I had originally booked after 11am when the other guest had checked out. Until then I could rest in an upper bunk in the mixed dorm but that the A/C would be turned off during the day. I’m used to that in Thailand anyway.
At 11am however, they tried to put me in a top bunk in the female dorm. I asked why she said there would be a bottom available, she had no response other than it wasn’t available. Two reasons I needed/wanted a bottom bunk. I had a biopsy on my foot the day before in Bangkok, and it’s always so hot in the top bunk.
Anyway I politely asked for a refund and to check out the next morning and told her I would stay in the current bunk because why mess up another bunk for no reason. When you walk in the dorm it is nice and cool from the A/C. There are privacy curtains in the bunk and fans on the ceiling. It was literally SO hot in my bunk even with the curtain half opened that the back of my shirt was wet with sweat. Not to mention the fans weren’t on at any point giving ZERO air circulation in the room so all of the cool air wasn’t getting circulated.
The bed was big and would have been very comfortable if not for the temperature. I also like that there was a bolster pillow in the bunk too. There aren’t enough toilets. No towels were provided. Paint was peeling off the ceiling.
The owner however, was very friendly refunded me for my second night no questions asked and even apologized for the misunderstanding with the top/bottom bunk situation. In her defense I never spoke with her about the fans or how hot it was...
Read moreThis hostel is an incredible find, especially for the price and the location! I stayed at the ALL Female Dorm. I find the female dorms to be more comfortable when traveling. The owner is super friendly and always tries to help whenever possible. They clean daily, provide complimentary breakfast and coffee, wifi, AC & fan in the room (AC runs at night to help with efficiency). Slippers were provided & left by the bathroom to put on in case it is wet from a shower (no wet feet). There is also soap provided in the showers! If you book a tour, you are provided a complimentary night stay in the hostel or a shuttle ride to Phi. There is also a water bottle refill station outside the hostel, for $1 bhat you can refill your water or for $5 bhat you can fill up a gallon. Directly next-door is a laundry mat. The hostel owner will give you detergent and break change if needed. Great place to stay, seating in the communal area and outside to socialize if you're not running around exploring. Has things to cook, microwave, dishes,...
Read moreWarning: Many of the pictures shown on this profile are incorrect, the luxurious pictures are actually of a nearby 3 star hotel; very misleading. This budget hostel is in a good location but the place has issues. There is a big mosquito problem in the halls and bathrooms. I asked the owner could I leave my bag in a locker until one hour after the check-out time, she seemed angered by my request and tried to keep half of my deposit in exchange for the extra hour of locker use. The owner lied to me and my friends; she said that other guests would be staying in our dorm room so some of the beds were off-limits. No such guests existed, I don't know why she lied to us about this, maybe she thought this would keep us quieter? There were some weird rules at the hostel. Owner enforced expensive fines eg. 500 baht for using any spray product while in your bedroom. Woman who run the place had an awful attitude, rude and grumpy. Altogether an...
