Marina Phuket Resort — Hotel in Karon

I spent MONTHS looking for just the right place to stay in Phuket during my husbands and my first trip to Thailand and I'm thrilled that I found and booked this resort! Here are a few of the things I was looking for: Included transfers to and from the airport Private beach access Ocean view hotel room Within the area that excursions to Phi Phi and Phang Nga island excursions would pick us up Included at least 2 meals as part of the stay Late checkout upon request Good value for the price There are other things I was looking for but these were some of the most important and this resort came through in every aspect! First, you should know that it takes about an hour and a half to reach this hotel by car from the Phuket International Airport. It was so wonderful that a driver was waiting for us when we arrived! He had cool wet towels and cold fresh water waiting for us and there was WIFI available for us to use in the van on the drive to the resort!! When we arrived, check in was a breeze. Everything was prepared for us. Our bags were taken to our room while we checked in and we were again given cold towels and cold delicious tea upon arrival in the lobby. Our room was nothing short of spectacular. Just look at my pictures! That might be the best shower we've ever had anywhere, the view from our private balcony was not only stunning but PRIVATE and it was so nice to have apple TV included! The WiFi was steady and reliable. The staff (all of them) were extremely friendly, helpful and professional. The grounds are immaculately kept. While this resort is on a very busy street in a bustling part of town, you would never know it once you're on the resort property, You would think you're in a remote and tranquil jungle hideaway right on the ocean. There is no street noise, only the crashing of the waves and the sounds of local birds and insects. It really is a lovely property!

The buffet which is included for breakfast and dinner is wonderful! The dining room, which is open to the outdoors but completely covered, is lovely and large and the food choices are vast and varied. Enough for everyone to find something different that they like every day.

The pool is one of the nicest I've seen at a hotel, with a swim up bar, a big waterfall and non-hot tub jets at the entrance. Loved that!

The beach access was just down a few stairs from our room and it was SO BEAUTIFUL! Not crowded at all due to the private nature of the hotel property and because this resort is on the end of the beach. It's beautiful and clean and well kept. The water is warm and lovely and the sand is as soft as silk! We loved having a beautiful beach so close by!

There is lots of shopping and eating within walking distance. Our favorite nearby thing was the Kata Day Spa for Thai massage. That was the best massage I've ever had in my life!

It was so nice that we were allowed late check out on our last day and shared a van with another couple heading to the airport. They got us there in plenty of time.

My husband and I also took advantage of their laundry service and were very pleased with the speed and the result.

I really can't recommend this hotel enough, especially for these prices. I really think it's the best value for your money in all of Phuket! We would definitely stay again. You will not regret booking this resort, trust me! Room tip: 504 was the best! Closest to the ocean on the very end of the row. The balcony view is spectacular and...

Fantastic hotel, we really enjoyed spending time by the pool. There's always a patch of shade or sun depending on what you want.

Easy access to the beach if you'd prefer, with lots of bars, restaurants, shops and massage parlours on the beach front and up the main road past the hotel.

The room was a great little pod in the jungle which felt very private, it can be quite a walk depending on where you're staying. But there's lovely raised wooden paths through the jungle to your pod.

Air con is fantastic in your room with a fantastic bathroom. Which is well received after the walk! Lovely rainfall shower and a stand alone bath.

The breakfast is included and there's a fantastic selection. Plenty of choice for everyone and the quality of food and drink is great. We enjoyed sampling the many different types of fresh juices available.

Also included is a meal (food only) at red chopsticks, which is the restaurant located at the entrance. The food again was fantastic, the duck curry is well worth a try! You can eat here for free for one meal a day between 12pm and 10pm.

We also ate one night at the fine dining restaurant 'on the rock' overlooking the sea. Its worth reserving a beach view table there, although it is a bit more pricey it's worth it if you have a special occasion to celebrate.

The staff are fantastic and can't be more helpful. The staff at the pool bar are always attentive, and the massages next to the pool were great!

The only negative is mosquitoes, but given the nature of the hotel they were inevitable.

All together a very relaxing and romantic place which is great for families with kids or couples to...

I stayed here for four nights at the end of a three week trip through Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. It made for the perfect finale after a busy itinerary including seven flights and sightseeing.|I had a Jungle room, a short walk from the pool and the breakfast room. A further short walk to the glorious beach. Exit the complex and you have the Main Street full of shops and restaurants. There”s The Rock restaurant onsite and a good Chinese restaurant right by the entrance.|Breakfast is a real event. You can have sausage, bacon and eggs freshly cooked in whichever way you want. Huge choice of juices. Brilliant coffee. Then there’s pastries,the typical Continental breakfast and then the traditional local dishes, noodles, soup etc.|My room was fantastic, high vaulted ceiling, bathroom with bath and shower, a sofa and a really comfortable bed even for those of us taller in stature! Very quiet aside from the glorious birdsong you can take in sitting on your verandah. A really efficient air-con most welcome in the heat and humidity.|Glorious pool with water jets and a waterfall. A great swim-up bar and can also order from your sun-bed. |Daily maid service with beach towels provided every day. A laundry service that for a few pounds returns your clothes beautifully folded and ready to go straight back in your case and avoiding the dreaded chore when you return home. |Finally, the staff. I cannot speak highly enough for their friendly, helpful attitude. Always a smile.
