By far the most disappointing experience in Bangkok. It was totally unexpected as my friend & I came for the nice reviews & the vibe seemed nice.
No one attended us from the door to the cashier, until a waiter gave signal to another waitress to sit us. We ordered and waited for another 30 minutes before checking on our foods. Unfortunately the waiter we asked couldn’t speak English, then another waitresses yelled over while passing by our table, “You have to wait! Ordered for you, you have to wait!”. The yelling was very upsetting and uncalled for, so we paid for our beers and left. Another Korean couple did the same, paid for their cokes & left - they had been waiting for foods for almost an hour.
Indeed we were a small table of 2 ordering lesser than the larger groups. With such good reviews I did not expect this level of service and would recommend others to rethink Honey House’s Google reviews before...
Read moreI tried hard to like this place, I really did. Against my better judgment, we returned for a second time after a poor experience the first time.
The staff here are lovely and the decor and ambience is nice as well. A/C indoors and charging ports at every table is a nice touch.
However, the food is perhaps the most bland Thai I’ve ever tasted. The pad Thai was tossed in a sickly sweet and sour sauce, the only discernible flavour in the fried rice was black pepper, the mango salad was bland, but the biggest crime was the Penang curry—served only as paste straight out of the jar with slices of chicken, not one piece of vegetable in sight!
The portions were also very small and the prices were high for Bangkok even before getting hit with a surprise tax AND service charge on the bill.
We came back because the reviews were so high…maybe we just ordered the wrong stuff but I will never go...
Read moreThis review is specifically about their restaurant, which serves surprisingly delicious food. While I didn't try the entire menus, a small number of choices (such as their Tomyam Soup noodle with veggies) can not only fill your stomach but also fill your tongue with great taste.
Enviroment wise is very relaxing with their miniature tropical feel from the outdoor while the interior gives an European-like decor for a thailand restaurant. The sound of their mini water fountain and music will keep one relaxed until their food arrives.
Service, on the other hand, is filled with friendly smiles and...well, service. Depends one your choice of food, they will will serve their food to the best of their abilities.
Tldr; good food, good service,...
