Been a while since I've been here so decided to give it a try. So I sat down and immediately the waitress brings me a water and I thought oh nice service, they give free water? But it turns out you do get charged for it at the end 😂. Anyways I ordered a combo plate of lamb rogan josh and chicken masala with butter naan...I actually asked for garlic naan they said ok but I guess they didn't put it in. When I got the food, the portion size was maybe just ok, you can see in the pictures. They gave 3 small pieces of naan, but it didn't even look buttered, and tasted very plain. The currys tasted just ok too and were not as good as I remembered. Final bill came out to about 550b with vat and service charge...which I feel is a bit over priced, considering I could've gotten a much better meal upstairs at the KBBQ buffet for about 400b. Overall a bit dissapointed so I've bumped my rating down a star from before. All the tvs are working now at least, but they only show pictures of the menu. ...... The restaurant looks bright and clean. There's 5 TV's hanging above the kitchen but only 1 was turned on and was playing a ONEFC MMA fight.
The menu was pretty big and I decided to order the Lamb onion burger. It took a while before I got the burger maybe almost 20 mins. The burger was cooked ok, but the bun to patty ratio was off...the bun was a lot bigger. All that was in the burger was the patty, abuch of cooked onions and some lettuce. While the burger tasted ok, there was nothing special to it, just an average burger. And it was messy to eat, one bite and the onions get squished out the sides. Oh and the fries were boring too, a little bit on the soft side and not seasoned.
Maybe their Indian foods are better, but I have to judge based on what I got and it was just ok. I will try something else next time and see.
Update:
Came back and tried the Chicken Tikka Marsala. It was on point and good portion size. Went well with the garlic naans. Price was 295b for the Marsala and 60b each for the naans. I think it was pretty worth it as compared to the two place just up the street where I've tried the same Chicken Tikka Marsala, here tasted by far the best. So I've added a star!
Update...
Been comming here alot for their Lamb Rogan Josh. But today I decided to try the Gulab Jamun...to my surprise you only get 2 small balls for 120b....that's kinda ridiculous...though they tasted...
Read moreIf you're on a hunt for spicy, vibrant Indian flavors in Bangkok, Chowpati Indian Street Food might be a pit stop, but not necessarily a destination. My recent craving for Indian led me here, and while it satisfied the immediate need, it didn't quite set my taste buds on fire.
Hits and Misses:
The chats offered a fun, street-food feel, and the dabeli, a savory potato and spice mix tucked into a fluffy bun, was decent. The combo with dal and paneer also delivered a comforting, familiar taste. However, the garlic burnt noodles and kung po chicken missed the mark. The noodles lacked that punchy garlicky aroma and satisfyingly smoky char, while the chicken in the kung po sauce felt muted and uninspired.
Keeping it Real:
Overall, Chowpati offers a casual, convenient option for Indian street food cravings. It's perfectly fine for a quick bite, but if you're seeking an explosion of authentic Indian flavors, you might want to keep exploring.

While Chowpati's Chinese-Indian fusion dishes didn't quite hit the mark for me, their menu boasts a wide variety of classic Indian options. Stick to those if you're looking for more traditional flavors. Bangkok has a thriving Indian food scene, so keep your eyes peeled for hidden gems!
Chowpati might not be the ultimate Indian street food nirvana, but it serves as a decent stepping stone on your Bangkok culinary adventure. Don't give up your...

Tried the below Veg items Pav bhaji - Stay away from this. Nowhere remotely close to expectations. Only felt like a cooked tomato puree servdd to me without any pav bhaji taste Veg biryani - Okish Spring roll - Okish. Can stay away Pav bhaji dosa - OK. Just a very thin layer of bhaji..seemed as good as mysore chutney on a dosa Chole Bhature - Good Veg Hakka Noodles - Must Try Chilli Paneer Dry - Good Tandoori Roti - Good Garlic Naan - Totally dry. Not even a basic touch of ghee to make it soft and edible. It was as dry and crispy as papad.
Food is overall ok if you need vegetarian options. Service is slow - it has taken as much as 30 mins for my orders too.
+1 We got our own bottle of water along- when I have 1, why do I buy from them? The manager/owner walks to my table & informs me I cannot keep this bottle on the table citing company policy of outside food or drinks not allowed. He said he cannot allow the bottle to be on the table. He then poured it in the glass and he disposed the bottle. Like seriously???? Its upto me how much water I want to have - there was no need or sense in doing this as long as its water.
Post this I am never coming to this place during rest of my stay i Bangkok.
This is a disrespectful behavior towards customers for a basic thing like water.
Overall not a good...
