It is in a by lane off Sukhimvit soi 11 and is quite difficult to negotiate a large car / vehicle. The checkin staff are very welcoming and helpful. We got good rooms on the 12th floor since it was ready before the 14th floor rooms which were initially allocated to us. They have a travel desk in the foyer and they are very felixible in their booking and well priced. We booked a trip for the 3 of us to Kanchanburi & had to postpone it which they were willing to accommodate without any grumble. We also booked a taxi for 10hrs to see around Bangkok and cost us 3000 bahts. The car was big & roomy and the driver was a lovely guy who spoke good English. The breakfast was just OK not much choice and very limited. The choice of eggs has to be ordered and will be brought to your table. Family and lots of middle eastern people seem to favour this place as well as from the West. There are lots of Indian restaurants on this Lane but not frequented by anyone. There is a lovely but very pricey restaurant called Zanzibar which serves absolutely delicious food but at a cost. Ambience is fantastic seated under candle light in a garden atmosphere with live music and band. There is a small swimming pool on the level of the breakfast area so there is not much of privacy. Overall it is a good hotel but for £705 for 2 rooms for 5 days in a capital city it is good value. There is a safe, mini bar, TV, coffe-tea making & few toiletries are provided. Room was rather small and the shower was cramped; unable to use the rain shower unless one wished to wet their hair daily. So only a hand shower could be used in the walkin shower area. The sky train is very close to the hotel and is 2-3 mins walk to the main road. Going to MBK mall for 40 bahts to & fro is good value. To Siam centre too. Platinum Mall is by tuk-tuk & though reception staff later on told us they would pay 60 bahts ; we as tourists were charged one way 150 bahts. Look out for scamsters in tuk-tuk guys who will take you to so-called gem wholesalers and then not be willing to drop you at your destination. I would prefer a less crowded and cleaner by- lane area in my future booking for Bangkok hotel. This hotel has hardly any frontage though the bell boys and concierge were very good. There is a 7 eleven closeby. The travel desk agents are not well informed about the free transfer from one airport to another in Bangkok. We had to find that out via Internet ; which by the way works well. Due to the poor area I have given this hotel 3* & the limited...
Read moreWe have been to Bangkok for more than 10 times and have tried hotels of different grades and prices, I can say the cleanliness of this hotel is the worst. The front desk staffs and the hotel porters are nice and lovely, they worth a 5-star rating. Due to some issues I will mentioned, We lived in 2 rooms in 2 different buildings during our 17 days in Bangkok. The hotel consists of two buildings, one was the main building where the reception and my 2nd room was located, and the other building was where our first room was. We booked the cheapest type of room, the room was old, small and a bit noisy (music from the pub until 2am), but these were acceptable at such a low price. The worst part was the cleanliness of the shower area, there were moulds on the shower head and the walls. And the house keeper of this building was not good at all, she left the key cards of other rooms twice in our room which can cause security risk, and sometimes she forgot to clean the bed after cleaning the toilets, and shower gel, toothbrushes, coffee, toilet papers...etc. were not refilled. These were not acceptable even at this low price. The only advantage of this room was the very cozy and comfortable bed. And during our 8th night, there was no water in shower room, so the front desk staff upgraded us to another room in the main building. The room was much bigger and newer, and we could not hear those noisy music from the pub. I checked the room price was more than a double of the original one. The bed was huge and comfortable, and there was a desk and two chairs. This room was generally good, the house keeper of this building was much better, she was polite and she refilled the stuffs and cleaned the room in a more professional way, but still, there were moulds on the shower head and the walls, which were quite disgusting. And please don't have expectation on the facilities, the swimming pool was small. The free wifi was disappointing, needed to reconnect again and again. And we experienced false fire alarm at night for 3 times, we were not sure if it was because someone was smoking in room. The hotel is located near Nana BTS station, and 8-min walk to Terminal 21, I think the location is perfect. But in my view, tourists can always find a better hotel...
Read moreUpdated: While I still keep my original review below for improvement points, the Management under Khun Piyachai has reached out to me and offered a solution of complimentary stay on next booking by using a coupon. With this being said, I appreciated their problem solving and therefore increased my overall star to 3-star.
I regret booking this place. To start off, the check-in experience was very weird. I came around the same time when people check out, so it was a bit of crowded in their small lobby. I was standing in front of the receptionist who asked me to “wait for 2 minutes” while he was finishing other guests’ administration. I was thinking, ok, I do that. But then it got weirder because I got serviced but at the same time he was talking to other colleagues about room arrangement. And then I got moved to another staff. When she explained the fine little details to me, I couldn’t focus at all because the lobby was very loud and she was talking with a soft sound. This experience made me feel so confused and disoriented and not a really good feeling to start my work trip.
I then had to wait for around 20 minutes for my room key. Minor discomfort, but I just wanted to get to my room. When I got to my room, I was quite shocked. 2000 baht for a small standard room with queen size bed with poor soundproofing quality, I could hear the traffic from outside, and tonight I could hear the music from the restaurant. The air conditioning is also very loud. When you enter the room, there’s this weird chemical (?) smell, that only gets off after you turn on the electricity and the AC.
Around 8 PM, I wanted to get out of the hotel. The elevator broke. I had to went down the stairs for 6 floors. The same receptionist apologized and said they’re fixing the elevator. Guess what, when I arrived back at the hotel around 11 pm, the elevator was still not working.
If you have the chance, just go to another hotel that can give better service. The only good thing about this hotel is the location, but only the strategic part (close to...
