Our group stayed at Hotel Mövenpick Sukhumvit 15, Bangkok from the 24th to the 25th of August, and while it was just a short stay, it left me with plenty of impressions.
The location is tucked into one of the narrower lanes of Sukhumvit, so you don’t step out into the buzz of nightlife straight away. But that also means it’s quiet, calm, and only a short walk to Terminal 21—a shopper’s paradise. For me, that worked nicely.
The rooms were spacious and well lit, with a nice modern feel. The air-conditioning wasn’t the strongest, I had to bring it down to 20°C to feel comfortable, but the bathroom was excellent, with plenty of toiletries, strong water pressure, hot and cold options, and even a bathtub with a shower facility. Definitely one of the highlights.
We had our breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant, Leelawadee, and the buffet spread was really good namely Thai, Indian, Arabic, and Western options, so there’s something for everyone. I just wasn’t too impressed with the live omelette station. The chef insisted I write down my preferences on a form, which I did, but what I got was exactly what I didn’t want. Thankfully, the restaurant manager was very polite and quickly got another chef to make it the way I’d asked in the first place. Problem solved, but I couldn’t help wondering why all the drama with the form then! The dining area itself is lovely, though I did notice the table mats felt a little sticky from earlier use, a small thing, but something that can be easily fixed.
The rooftop pool is another gem. It’s not huge, and if many people decide to use it, it can feel a bit crowded, but the view of the Bangkok skyline makes it totally worthwhile. Just sitting up there and taking it in is an experience in itself.
What really stood out for me was the service. I want to specially mention Mr. Chang and Mr. Moy, two absolute stars. Always smiling, warm, and genuinely eager to help, they brought a lot of positivity to my stay. If the security staff had even half their warmth, it would have been perfect. Our coach driver was unfortunately shouted at quite rudely by one of the security personnel during departure, even though we had parked exactly where we were told to the previous day. That was unnecessary and felt out of place compared to the otherwise polite and professional staff across the hotel.
Overall, Mövenpick Sukhumvit 15 has a lot going for it: great location if you want peace with easy access to shopping, comfortable rooms, a good dining spread, and a rooftop pool with stunning views. A few service hiccups and maintenance details aside, it’s a stylish and welcoming hotel. With staff like Mr. Chang and Mr. Moy, it’s the kind of place you’d happily come back to.

Read moreI recently had the opportunity to stay at the Mövenpick Hotel Sukhumvit 15 Bangkok for 2 nights, and while there were certainly some highlights, there were also a few areas that could use some attention.
To start on a positive note, the staff at check-in were extremely friendly and accommodating. Dean, in particular, went above and beyond by upgrading us to a deluxe room with a bathtub, which was a very nice gesture. Chong also help me a lot throughout our stay at the hotel. The early check-in and ability to leave our luggage while we explored the nearby Terminal 21 mall were also greatly appreciated.
Speaking of the location, the hotel's proximity to Terminal 21 Asok was quite convenient, though the 10-15 minute walk may be a bit much for some guests. It was unfortunate that the tuk-tuk service was not functioning during our stay, forcing us to rely on taxis instead due to have toddler. No street food vendor available nearby the hotel. If you looking for food the best to go to the Terminal 21 Asok mall or near by hotel with high price restaurant. Terminal 21 has very cheap food court call Pier 21 and food starting at 30 bath.
The real disappointment, however, was the breakfast experience. While the staff were attentive, they seemed a bit rushed and the dining area appeared understaffed. More concerning was the fact that many of the food items were not being replenished in a timely manner, especially later in the breakfast service around 9:30 AM.The quality of the food itself was moderate at best, and not quite worth the 500 THB per person price tag. In comparison, my previous stay at the Movenpick in Jimbaran, Bali provided a much more enjoyable breakfast experience.
It's also worth noting that this hotel seems to cater more towards business travelers rather than families. The small, basic playground in the kids club did not hold much appeal for my daughter, who quickly lost interest. This is in contrast to the more comprehensive and engaging kids facilities at the Mövenpick in Jimbaran.
Overall, the comfortable room, friendly staff, and convenient location make the Mövenpick Hotel Sukhumvit 15 Bangkok a solid choice. However, the shortcomings in the breakfast offering and the lack of family-friendly amenities prevent me from giving a full 5-star review. With some improvements to the dining service, food quality, and kids' activities, this hotel could...
Read moreWe stayed 10 days at this property during our time in Bangkok, overall positive and nice experience. However, I politely disagree with the 5star category advertised based on my two points from my feedback below that I noticed all the time during our stay but I would be happy to come back.
-Staff: great hospitality and people, Kudos to Chang and Wiz who looked after us during our stay from the first day of arrival. -Location: is amazing! Very well communicated to the public transport, places to eat and hangout around. Extra point for the shuttle going to the BTS station. -Room: is very good! well equipped, great shower and nice space to open your luggage. We also slept very good! The space for the closet is a bit dark, so you might struggle to find your things a bit but we loved the full body mirror, very useful. -Pool and gym area very nice and well equipped.
Constructive Feedback -Breakfast: I’m sorry but this was a very messy and chaotic situation. It was mentioned in several reviews and this is still not improved, so I don’t recommend paying for it during your stay. I also understand policies to avoid that people takes out food from the restaurant. However, there are some common sense situations where I encountered challenges: my partner does not takes full breakfast as he decided to sleep longer and I always take a coffee and a croissant (1 piece, literally) when he wakes up. I was denied to do that. Another day I requested the same and I was told I had to pay for the disposable cup (i can afford it) but why would I have to pay for it when we paid already for a full breakfast? at the end it was not charge but not the most pleasant experience for breakfast overall.
-Service at the Pool and Rooftop Bar Area: needs to improve please. We spent quite some time there. Glasses and dishes from previous guests stay on the tables because staff does not goes around to check and that could be easily fixed because there is not a huge amount of people there all the time. That would also boost your sales if someone could come over to check if you need some water, something to drink, reminders that happy hour is starting or even hand you over the menu. It’s also confusing to know which sun bed is free or reserved because there are glasses or towels from previous person around it and not cleaned out.
Again, great place and people and I’m looking forward for some...
