Definitely not my first time traveling to Bangkok. It’s 2025, and never in my wildest dreams did I expect to experience such service. Despite its fancy décor, delicious food, and great trance music (live DJ, saxophone player, and even dancers), I would not recommend this place—unless you’re non-Asian.
The Good: ✔️ Delicious food ✔️ Great music and lively atmosphere ✔️ Stylish ambiance
The Not-So-Good: Reservation Hassle: Tried booking via the HUNGRY HUB app but the screen shows error. Was flashed a notice to call the restaurant instead for reservations. After getting through via call, restaurant informed us that Friday was closed for a private event and that Saturday had availability at 8 PM. They took my name and email (both spelled incorrectly) but did not mention any dining time limit—only the dress code (no slippers and singlet) Discriminatory Atmosphere?: Upon arrival, half the venue was reserved for a group of French patrons celebrating a birthday. When I entered the lift, one of them made a rude gesture/noise (in French). While not the restaurant’s fault, it set the tone for the unforgettable night. Service Issues: No introduction by the staff after being seated. No mention of a dining time limit. We confirmed with staff about using the HUNGRY HUB voucher, only to be told it wasn’t possible since our booking wasn’t made via the app (even though we tried). Ordered a bottle of wine, a mocktail, and appetizers. When asked whether we wanted the food to be served together or progressively, we chose together. The staff responded, “Your table is not big enough.” So then, why were we even offer the choice? Somehow, everything fit anyway. Flambé Fire Incident: A table behind us ordered salt-baked fish, and without warning, the staff performed a flambé show. A large flame flared up unexpectedly. No heads-up, no professionalism. Abrupt Time Limit Enforcement: We ordered a second bottle of wine, unaware of any time limit. Suddenly, a hostess approached, using a slightly distasteful tone, saying our time was up and the table was needed. When I calmly informed her that we had never been told about a time limit, she insisted it was in the confirmation email (which we never received). I also pointed out that only our table was being asked to leave. She seemed taken aback, apologized, and suggested we finish our bottle in the standing area. After some discussion, we stayed at our table to finish drinking. The staff gave us “some space.” At 10:40 PM, the hostess returned, asking if she could have the table in 20 minutes. We requested until 11:10–11:15 PM. She rolled her eyes and left. We finished by 11 PM and requested the bill. By 11:10 PM, we were still waiting. After informing the hostess, the bill arrived within minutes, and we left.
Final Thoughts: Both my friends and I come from the service industry, having worked in aviation for over a decade. This is not the level of service expected from a high-end establishment. We chose this venue to celebrate a friend’s birthday and remained civil throughout. However, the preferential treatment towards non-Asians, lack of transparency regarding the dining limit, and poor service left us with a bitter experience. If management truly values inclusivity, this place might be worth a second chance. Until then, 1 star for food and ambiance.
