If you absolutely need stable WiFi & good Internet, stay away from this hotel. Major disappointment even after reseting the router.
But that is where the negatives end:
Maitria Mode is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed as I travelled the world, hands down. They did everything right and dare I say, perfect. The room (premier corner room) is comfortably spaced out, and the walk-in toilet design is genius. Everything just works, and there're even microwaves and coffee-maker in the room. The complimentary tea, coffee, and carbonated drink are of higher grades. Drinking water is plentiful. The breakfast is great, and the location was close to happening places yet quiet enough to sleep well.
The best of all, the staff. Every each of them, beaming with smile, polite and helpful. They even go all their way to shuttle us to BTS outside their regular schedule. Seriously... their commitment and speed if getting work done is one of the best in class. I'm a little fussy, but my requests were promptly addressed, and everything that I could ask for is given.
Normally, in this age, poor Internet automatically means -1 star or even -2 stars, but for what they lack, they make it back with superstar performance. So this hotel remains a 5 stars for me, and will I be back? Definitely... but not for business purposes because I really need a stable WiFi. However, if it is for vacation, yes, I would.
Thank you guys, particularly the young boy who does housekeeping with such commitment, smile, and politeness. The gentlemen who wear spectacles proactively help us with our luggage when we stumble by accident at the lift and then offer to shuttle us safely to BTS. The cheerful tall young man who man the kitchen in the restaurant. The cheerful, bespectacled girl who takes our breakfast order. The nice and well-spoken receptionist that welcomes hs. Each and every one of you had made our stay special and truly, leaving us the impression of what made Thailand great and the land of smile.
Thank you, and I pray for your future success. I am looking forward to returning again on my next trip.
P/S: The gym opened 24 hours and was very well maintained. I can't appreciate this enough for focusing on the small little things like a gym. The swimming pool though, a little small and is just good for a dip and...

It all went sour when we tried to check out and was late for our flight. It took the receptionist from 3pm on Dec 19th, over 15 minuted to liaise with housekeeping to check our rooms and the mini bar to see whether they had to charge us.
We did not use any of the minibar items and DID NOT TAKE ANYTHING. However, the receptionist told us that 2 mini towels were missing from the room, which was never replaced in the first place. They would not let us go and insisted we STOLE THE TOWELS.
We were sure we saw 2 mini towels on the first day, but after housekeeping cleaned our rooms, they took the dirty towels and never replaced them. We remembered this very clearly because the day after, my friends and I noticed that the 2 mini towels were never replaced, but we didn’t fuss over it.
This is why we were so frustrated when the receptionist continued to insist we had to pay for the towels and wouldn’t let us go albeit us being late for our flight and explaining everything. My friends and I were so frustrated we went up and checked the rooms again, and told the house keeping that it was never refilled.
Since they didn’t speak English, they mimed no mini towels to us, and of course we couldn’t find anything because it wasn’t there in the first place.
At the end because our Uber driver already waited for over 30 mins and we were late for our flight with the heavy traffic jams in the afternoon, we paid and left.
This was the most horrible experience I ever have, not because of the money we had to pay for the towels, but because they insisted WE STOLE THEM.
If this is the case, anyone to comes to this hotel, please remember to count every towel and amenities you have in your room because the house keeping will forget to refill them and YOU WILL BE LIABLE TO...
Read moreStayed here for nearly 3 weeks so this is a pretty fair and honest review. Would rate a 3.5/5 if I could as it’s a bit better than a 3/5 but not a 4/5 hotel.
Bed really comfy & soft pillows which was fantastic. Pool area nice and the staff are extremely polite as well. Breakfast is reasonable, nothing too flash but it has the essentials.
Room smelt like a mixed between smoke and pizza initially, it took a couple of days for the smell to go away.
The room lights kept turning on and off by themselves constantly during our stay, so I think there is something faulty with them (likely isolated to our room only).
Wifi is the worst wifi we have experienced in our 6 month trip in Thailand. Constantly cutting out and incredibly slow, only connects for 30secs-1 minute each time and then will lose connection again. We’ve been on tiny islands and they had much better wifi. We were trying to do work in our room which became so frustrating with the wifi. We had to use our 4G phone data for the entire stay due to the bad wifi.
Tuk tuk service would be great if it could be utilised more frequently as they only go on the hour and don’t go at 12pm & 5pm. It’s great when you can time it exactly on the hour to be leaving the hotel as the walk to the train/terminal 21 is pretty long in the hot weather.
There are a few taxi men outside the hotel constantly annoying guests with their taxi scams. It would be nice if the hotel kept these guys away as it’s not that inviting.
Overall, average stay, we would choose another hotel next time...
