TL;DR: All in all, I would book this suite again!
Rooms:
We booked a suite which has two bedrooms with an ensuite bathroom each. The mattresses, pillows and blankets were comfortable. The aircon worked fine. It was great having two bathrooms as the weather was 37 degree Celsius when we were there, so it was nice to not have to wait for each other to freshen up.
One of the rooms had mirrors all around, so it took a bit of getting used to, during bedtime. I had to learn how to adjust the water pressure and heat; I figured it out on the third day of our stay. The suite seems a bit old, but wear and tear is normal.
Service:
The service was excellent! Every staff we met was very friendly, helpful and had a strong command of English!
When we had arrived back at the hotel in a taxi and needed to change a 1000 THB note for the ride, one of the security guards promptly helped us to change it at the front counter while we waited in the taxi.
Also, I had needed help to GrabDelivery a parcel and did not have time to wait for the GrabDelivery driver. The front desk staff kindly helped me to smoothly deliver the parcel and payment fee to the driver without worry.
Most importantly, I had wanted to surprise my husband, so I emailed the hotel a week before our arrival to let them know that we were there to celebrate my birthday and our first wedding anniversary. As communicated, they decorated our two-bedroom suite with fresh orchids, towel swans and birthday decorations! This thoughtful gesture truly made us feel like it was a celebratory trip, instead of our usual annual vacation to Bangkok.
In return, my husband surprised me with room service breakfast on one of the mornings, so that we could have a romantic brunch in private before heading out for the day. While I heard very soft clanging of the cutlery when I woke up, I am very sure the staff made sure to remove the cling wrap from the food as quietly as possible! The food portions were generous and tasted delicious!
Location:
The hotel is about 700 metres walking distance from Chidlom BTS, with two 7-11s, massage parlours and eateries conveniently located nearby. We went to the bigger two-storey 7-11 a few times to get isotonic drinks and light snacks.
When using the Grab app, the Grab drivers know exactly where the hotel is. However, if you are flagging a taxi, there is also Grande Centre Point -- we had a taxi driver almost drop us off at this hotel. Not a big issue, since both hotels are located near each other so it is easy to redirect the taxi driver to Centre Point Chidlom using Google Maps.
Thank you again to the Centre Point Chidlom team for making our stay...
Read moreRooms are starting to look a little dated which can be ignored by their size. We had a 2 bedroom suite on 25th floor with a very spacious living room / dining area / kitchenette. Both bedrooms en-suite. Master bedroom a lot roomier than 2nd bedroom but 2nd bedroom still spacious enough. Both rooms had plenty of storage, large comfortable bed and airconditioning. Master bedroom's en-suite had large bath, shower and a fancy toilet seat that does everything to keep you clean. Master bedroom's ensuite only accessible via bedroom whereas the 2nd bedroom was accessible from the bedroom and living area. Living / dining area was spacious and had a sofa with coffee table plus an armchair. Large TV but it was only linked to news channels. Dining area had a large dining table with seating for 4. Kitchen area was also spacious with a waahing machine, full fridge, kettle and sink. It lacked bottle opener, cork-screw, cutting knives etc. It had very limited cutlery, plates, bowls, glasses etc. The two bedroomed suite was very comfortable and good value. The swimming pool was fairly small, salt water, pool. It is open air but also completely under cover so gets no sun. Limited seating around the pool and is too small to cater to the number of rooms. Staff were all very polite and efficient although when we reported a cockroach to front desk, we felt the lady could have shown a little more surprise and be more apologetic. A cockroach is one of those things in Bangkok and there's not much they can do, but a little more empathy ? Location is so-so. Langsuan is a wealthy area and whilst there are plenty of places to eat all along the road, they aren't cheap. There are at least 2 x 7-11 shops with walking distance amd Central Chidlom a good 5 minute stroll but to off-set a sweaty walk, Centre Point runs a shuttle Tuk Tuk from hotel to Central Chidlom and the Skytrain. I liked the location. It was quiet, clean and close enough to everything I wanted. My wife didn't think location was that good... Centre Point seems to market itself to Korean, Japanese and Chinese markets. Most, not all, of the guests were from that region. I think this is a good place to stay but if you want a larger pool and a little more modern, try Grand Centre Point just...
Read moreDuring my recent stay, I encountered a blend of warm hospitality and some infrastructural challenges that shaped my experience.
Pros:
Staff: The hotel staff stood out with their friendliness and helpfulness. Their attentive service added a personal touch to my stay, making me feel welcomed and valued as a guest.
Location: The hotel's location is commendable, offering easy access to the city's vibrant life. The complimentary tuk-tuk service to the nearest BTS station is a thoughtful addition, enhancing convenience for guests exploring Bangkok.
Room: My room was spacious, providing ample space to relax and unwind. Despite its dated appearance, the room's size and the overall ambiance offered a comfortable retreat in the bustling city.
Cons:
Electricity Issues: My stay was notably marred by recurring electricity shutdowns. The building experienced two consecutive shutdowns, which, although initially fixed, occurred again 30 minutes later. On the day of my checkout, another shutdown compelled me to check out earlier than planned. This disruption was inconvenient and impacted my overall experience.
Air-Conditioning Noise: The hotel's age is apparent not just in its aesthetics but also in its facilities. The air-conditioning unit in my room was exceedingly loud, making it difficult for a light sleeper like myself to find rest. The noise level was disruptive and detracted from the comfort of the room.
Conclusion: While the hotel boasts commendable staff, a convenient location, and spacious rooms, it faces significant challenges with its aging infrastructure. The electrical issues and noisy air-conditioning are areas in need of urgent attention to ensure guests have a comfortable and uninterrupted stay. Despite these drawbacks, the positives, particularly the exceptional service and strategic location, make it a consideration for those who prioritize hospitality and access over...
