We left the Hotel on the afternoon of August 21st, asking the reception for a taxi that would take us to the Hotel point tacsim area where the "Havabus" bus is, specifying the address and requesting a taxi with payment by credit card, having run out of Turkish lira otherwise we would have gone to Pera tacsi and taken the taxi ourselves. The tall receptionist with a tattoo on his neck and the short colleague with black hair assured us of everything we requested. We took the taxi they called that took us to tacsim square and not to the requested address and did not have the POS to pay. Our requests were ignored and we had to return with the same tacsi to the hotel to explain the situation. Obviously I also had euros but they did not have the 50€ change and I had to pay the tacsi myself after the hotel staff created the problem, also creating a delay on my arrival at the airport. They didn't apologize, they didn't try to find a way to help us but they argued saying that it was the taxi driver's fault. But how can the taxi driver be at fault if they should have made sure and requested what we had requested. Luckily the taxi driver was satisfied with 7€ that I had in coins that were more or less the right cost from the hotel to taxi square and back. We took taxis all over the city, several times a day for the 5 days we were there and we never had any problems and there were also taxis with POS on board. After this issue that only made us waste time, we went to Pera taxi which is 200 meters from the hotel and we took a taxi with payment by card and with 200 Turkish lira we went to take the bus to the airport. All this in a 5 star hotel is unacceptable, you should change these two people because in addition to not understanding English well, they do not have the slightest idea of how to manage a reception in a 5 star hotel. I will return to this beautiful city but I will carefully avoid this hotel, because in addition to the problem created at my departure it has a purely Turkish breakfast and not international also badly cooked with recycled things from the day before (an example: boiled cauliflower for breakfast and the next day cauliflower flan, the cold cuts left from the breakfast of the day before, cut into strips and seasoned as a hot dish, I will not go on to describe, a green vegetable from the day before, the next day it was a flan. There is bread of every kind and three types of mini brioches frozen and badly cooked, they are always moist and not crunchy, I do not want to go on further I think I have expressed the concept. Terrible breakfast and not International. Of international on the whole breakfast there are only scrambled eggs, which the chefs in 5 days that I stayed prepared only for three days, preparing only hard boiled eggs. I hope they take away the stars from this hotel and I will find out if there is a way to make a complaint to those who assign stars to hotels. A word of advice: Don't leave anything outside the safe. I left my designer sunglasses case in the room and couldn't...
Read moreWe stayed here for five nights. There are good and bad points that are worth mentioning. Let's begin with the positive ones. The location is wonderful. Close to Sisane metro and bus station and a 5 minute walk to Istiklal Street. The cleaning and housekeeping service is perfect. The breakfast view is lovely (but not the breakfast itself!) The architecture and decoration are beautiful and you feel like you're in an old mansion. The staff understand English and you won't have trouble communicating. The staff are ok but friendly? I don't think so! They barely say hi, bye or thank you! However, the only exception was the girl at the reception called Idil. She knows English very well and is really nice and helpful. Apart from her, the rest of the staff are not very friendly, specially the one in charge in the mornings (he might be the day manager). He is outspoken and even a bit aggressive in his attitude. The sad point is that they are clearly nicer and friendlier towards guests from Europe or America but when it comes to middle-eastern guests such as Iranians they act as if those guests are a nuisance. This is a serious issue that the manager needs to address. The room is clean and nice with a safe box and a lovely air-conditioner but the room service is poor! We asked for a set of fork and knife in the middle of the day and they rudely said that the kitchen is closed and that they won't send it to our room. The breakfast view towards Golden Horn is lovely but the breakfast itself is nothing special. You can go for a room without breakfast and you won't miss anything special. The breakfast area is really hot and they don't have a proper air-conditioning system for that area. Teaspoons which were put on the top of the cups in the buffet had tea and coffee stains on them almost everyday. Once I showed the stains to one of the staff and he kindly changed the spoon. All in all Palazzo Donizetti is worth the price and we recommend it to others but there is room for improvement specially when it comes to the staff's attitude. They need to be nicer. They must welcome their middle eastern guests as warmly as they welcome the rest of the nationalities and treat them with the same degree of respect that they show their European or English speaking guests. Such discrimination is...
Read moreI am writing this complaint message on behalf of all my friends after staying at hotel Palazzo Donizetti the last two days. We had the misfortune of staying at this property from Thursday August, 25th to Saturday August, 27th. This is to bring to your kind attention that we are extremely disappointed with the service. We were supposed to stay longer but we have decided to leave earlier because of a number of unsatisfactory service levels that people and eventual future guests should know.
This is about the poor condition of customer service with high customer dissatisfaction.
The choice of this property came after discussing with the travel agency portraying a completely different picture compared to reality. The agency itself was extremely disappointed. Many amenities are described while they do not exist let alone the fact that some basics are not even available in this so-called ‘4 stars’ hotel that does not even deserve a star. For instance, trouble with the Wi-Fi, all the furniture and electrical appliances inside the room were very primitive, bathroom towels not changed, a clogged sink in bathroom , elevator always out of order, etc, ...
Ever since we checked in, our experience has been the worst ; staff showing a lack of skill and sensitivity in dealing with guests not to mention the front desk clerk not being friendly. In other words, a lack of customer service.
I believe the travel agency should definitely take proper action against this hotel and make sure not a single guest gets into this property. In the tourism and hospitality industry, the success or failure of these businesses depends on service. Having said that, high-level decision makers get to know about this hotel and how they do treat the guests giving a very bad image about the country. Quick and immediate actions are to be taken to soothe guests and hosts.
This so-called hotel is not making its guests’ sleep a priority. During our stay, we have all complained about the continuous noise coming from the pub and club at the 7th floor. The noise coming from the Disco remains till 02:00 o’clock.
For all of these, along with much and much more, I would certainly not recommend at...
