Bucoleon by Cheers||Istanbul||THIS PLACE IS A DUMP||843755282||My wife and I always dreamed about going to Istanbul and after a lot searching booked through (BOOKING.COM) 6 nights in this horrendous place, we wanted the best room they have, and they provide a “suite” which included a "Steam room" which was in dire need of cleaning, it did have a rundown balcony and some sort of ocean view|||| Mind you, this place has not elevator and the so call suite was on the 5th floor. I am 76 years old in good shape but at my age a slip on the " No Code" staircase" in an old house which has been converted to a hotel could be fatal, the moment the taxi dropped us in front I was baffle, the place looked more like an abandoned house than a hotel but we, decided to go in and see, there was no reception just a desk with a bunch a chairs and a bar in one site, at that time they were having a party, “belly dancing girl” performing in the middle, no chance to sign anything, we were later told that this was very evening happening. Anyhow, manage to be taken to the room by somebody who was mending the front door and walked into the “suite” to the shock of my life, this room old, decrepit, dimly lit place surely not fit for a couple of retirees to rest and have an enjoyable time in an unforgettable city.||In the middle of the room there was this humongous black couch in front of a 40-inch TV with two big speakers, one queen side bed, no bedside tables, one wall lamp on a side, the curtains in the room were dirty and in need of replacement, and the floor of the sauna dirty and in need of cleaning. This cost me 900 dollars; I had a booking for 6 days but refused to stay in this place due to the described conditions. I complained to the whoever seems to be managing the front desk and also to BOOKING.COM since the reservation was made through then, nothing was done on my behalf and the next night moved to a proper hotel with the proper commodities. This place refuse to return any money and actually did collect full amount in spite of me staying there only for one night.||||I have reviewed the pictures etc. use by this establishments and there is no doubt that it is a scam, all pictures are highly filtered making the place look attractive and not the disaster which it is. I lost 900 dollars but at least did not expose myself to catch a terrible disease in that dirty, bug infested place. My advise DO NOT STAY IN THIS PIGSTY EVEN...

We stayed at this hotel for two nights in March 2025. The location was excellent, as it was close to all the major tourist attractions, making it convenient for exploring the area.

Breakfast options were limited but fresh, including cheese, bread, jam, tomato slices, apple slices, a boiled egg, cucumber slices, and orange slices, served with tea or coffee.

The staff was friendly and helpful, though we noticed that a kettle jug for tea or coffee was not provided in the room, which would have been a nice addition. The room was fairly clean, but there is some room for improvement.

One issue we experienced was a loud noise early in the morning on our second day, possibly from goods being unloaded nearby. Additionally, the air conditioning didn’t seem to work properly, which made it a bit uncomfortable at times.

That being said, the hotel was affordable and had a restaurant with a lovely view, which was a nice highlight. We had read many positive reviews before our visit, but our experience didn’t fully match those expectations.
