Estambul 1453 Terrace & Restaurant — Restaurant in Fatih

Unfortunately, we with my friend got not a very pleasant experience here.

They were not able to cook steak rare, despite the fact that in the begining they proposed three options - rare medium well-done to choose from. The steak I got was well done when I asked for rare. I was given an explanation that the weather is too hot (it was evening and +28°C maximum) so it's not possible to make it rare. I had to choose different option from the menu and wait one more time.

At the end we got smth like +10% for all the prices in the bill. We were told that it's some taxes every restaurant has to pay here (we visited some restaurants before and we didn't see this taxes). Since this information was not included into the menu from the beginning, and after some argues, we agreed that we pay without it.

Also, the bill included steak instead of less expecive option I got at the end, so we had to discuss this too.

Stuff come to us too often to ask is everything all right, it was a little bit annoying.

In general stuff tried to be nice, and the food (except steak) was good, and we got 2 glasses of wine as an excuse for the steak. But because of all this argues and discussions the overall experience...

Atmosphere: First and foremost is the view. The food is absolutely delicious but you can get good food in many places. The view, atmosphere, courtesy of the staff however are much rarer and this place has it all. You take an elevator up to the roof and are welcomed into a very modern and clean bar area with a tremendous and unobstructed view of the ocean.

Food: I ate the Grape Leaves and Iskandar. The Grape Leaves were good, but they were not the best I've had. The Iskandar however was phenomenal. I will go again and try some other starters.

Cost: As with most terrace restaurants in Sultanhmet it is more expensive than you would find at a "mom and pop shop" in the suburbs. However, when spending from an American perspective it is worth the money. My total bill ended up being around $70. Or 2270 Lira. Which considering I got an appetizer, RakI and a meal with an amazing view it is of good value. It is not a budget...

It has a beautiful view of the ocean and surrounding old city and over the Marmara sea scenery and the view was stunning. The service is excellent and I have to say it is my preference to recommend this place so relaxing and has breathtaking scenery. The owner was so pleasant and down-to-earth kind of person he made sure our stay was enjoyable. It's my first time visiting Istanbul and this rooftop restaurant has amazing service and stunning views. The owner has given us complimentary tea and sweets to taste which is great 😋. My husband and I, recommend that anyone who comes to this town stay here when they need to chill eat, and drink and has breathtaking views. My husband and I were so pleased to be here and very close to the Blue Mosque Istanbul....
