Good location, helpful staff. But BE AWARE noisy and no insulation at All between walls and floors. We could not sleep because of the compressor noise that was next to our room. We complained many times but unfortunately the problem was not resolved. We tried to explain to that hotel management that this is not acceptable and they promised to move us to another room away from the noise but unfortunately they did not do that because the hotel was full. Economy and standard rooms are very very very tiny and no space to open your luggage or move in the room. The bathroom was a joke. It's literally like kids toy bathroom where you can't even move in the shower and when you're sitting on the toilet your head is inside the sink. I felt that Ali from the front desk wanted to help and was trying to speak to the neighbor because he claimed that they are the source of the noise but unfortunately the problem was not resolved specially in the night. Breakfast was simple and almost the same every day. But the noise was our biggest issue. You will hear the people above you going to the bathroom and the one next to you fighting. so literally there is no privacy. Another big issue was the towels they were old and not clean. We tried to ask for new towels but they were the same with stains on them so that was disgusting. We had to buy our own towels and send them to dry clean. I wish I read the online reviews before because they're all talking about the noise and the privacy issues. The two stars are only for the location and the friendly staff. But I do not...
Read moreBeautiful building, conveniently situated amongst the shops, bazaars, eateries and attractions with balconies for watching the sun rise over Istanbul and the life on the street below. A little off the busiest of streets so more peaceful during the night but enough of life going on that it felt safe and interesting at all hours. Super close to bus, train, metro and ferry (less than 10 mins to each with one metro station outside). |For me, the best part of staying here was the amazing, fresh and delicious breakfast with lovely little changes daily. Breakfast always felt peaceful and relaxed. |A very short walk to the main bazaars and mosques and a lovely walk at that. |The staff were very welcoming and always on hand day or night and I think because it’s a family-run business they take a great deal of pride in the building and services they offer. |Loved returning to a clean and cool room after hot and dusty days travelling around Istanbul. Slept really well. Clean and cosy room, lovely spacious bathroom. Gorgeous hallways with a spiral staircase in keeping with the original 19th century design. Also a lift to access all floors. Had an intimate and...
Read moreNOT RECOMMENDED. Terrible hotel. The hotel owner becomes mad, rude, and aggressive if you dare to tell him that you don't like the room and want to change. I have stayed in many hotels of various categories. Never happened to me, neither the staff nor the owners to refuse to assist me! The owner of the hotel, Ali, got furious and started shouting, "Get out of my property, I will refund your money.!!!. My aunt travelling with me started crying. She was afraid of that guy. We finally stayed all days in this terrible place, we were 4 people company and didn't want to look for another place at the last minute. Below-average breakfast, we stayed there 5 nights, and they didn't change our sheets in none of the days! Only the towels daily. The room was very small and was smelling mould. The room was stinking from the smells from the fried sausages and any other food the staff was preparing for breakfast every morning! The cleaning staff is friendly but that doesn't compensate the huge disadvantages of this place. The only benefit with this hotel is the location, but it's not worth it at all to stay there for...
