I really wanted to like this place based on the positive reviews I saw, but the location and broken key left me disappointed. More like in between 2-3 stars for the review.
Pros: View from the top, big room and bathroom, comfy space and nice breakfast! Lots of cheese and spreads. Good price for a last minute booking so I can catch a hot air balloon ride the next day.
Cons: Very hard to get to. My friend was going to drive me up to drop me off before returning our car rental as they were getting ready to leave for the next city that night, and we got stuck halfway through following directions from google maps (narrow streets and felt like a one way street so it's hard to drive if there are cars coming the other way).
I had to carry my luggage and walk up the rest of the way (not paved road, it took us towards an alleyway not for cars and was shown as 6 minutes away from my previous stay, at the bottom of the hill). I didn't know the area, so had no idea it was that high up.
I had to find another spot since the first place we stayed at together was out of my budget with just one person in a giant room (also limited avails). I found this place on booking.com with a good price in the morning and saw the high positive ratings, so I decided to book it to give it a try! Little did i know the walk up was a hike! Especially unpleasant on a rainy day carrying up my luggage!
The walk up the hill was not fun with my luggage and drizzling rain, climbing up steps/stairs for about 3-5 flights from an alleyway that felt a bit ghetto was a little scary since i was on my own, and had to pass by some under-construction sites/buildings. I went this way because google showed it as the shortest walking distance.
I'm glad it was in the morning and bright outside so I could see the surrounding areas. There are no lights that way at night. The other problem I had was the key I got for the room couldn’t lock the door from the inside, and I was traveling solo, so it didn’t feel that safe for me (I had to move chairs to block the door). Glad it was only for one night.
I think this is a better option if you're traveling in a group and the room is very spacious, and you also have someone to walk with up and down the hill. Not a good experience for...

After thorough research and price comparisons, we decided to book Emit Cave Hotel, and it turned out to be the best choice in one of Göreme’s most popular areas. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Ahmed, who is truly a gem of a person. He greeted us with a smile, helped with our luggage, and personally showed us to our room, making us feel right at home. The highlight of our stay was the authentic Turkish breakfast. Every morning, we were treated to an incredible spread with a variety of fresh and delicious items. The flavors were so rich and satisfying that during our three-day stay, we never felt the need to try breakfast anywhere else! Our experience at Emit Cave Hotel was nothing short of amazing. From the hospitality to the food and the cozy cave-style ambiance, everything exceeded our expectations. If you're planning a trip to Cappadocia, this hotel is an excellent choice for an unforgettable stay!
Room Lighting Could Be Improved While our stay at Emit Cave Hotel was wonderful, we felt that the lighting in the room could be slightly brighter for added comfort. A bit more illumination would enhance the overall ambiance and functionality of the space. This is a minor suggestion, and it did not take away from our overall enjoyable experience...
Read moreThe Emit Cave Hotel is ideally located near the city center, making it easy to explore on foot. We arranged an airport shuttle service through the hotel for our arrival from Kayseri Airport, which cost 10 euros per person and was a pleasant start to our stay. Visiting in November, we were a group of two friends and a child, and we had a wonderful time. Nights were a bit chilly, and we felt cold—extra blankets would have helped, though we didn’t think to ask.
The hotel manager was exceptionally kind and accommodating, even offering us discounts on activities like the hot air balloon ride and the Turkish night tour, both of which were unforgettable experiences. The city is very welcoming to tourists, with warm and friendly locals. However, food prices have risen significantly, about three to four times higher than last year. Also, when traveling to Cappadoccia, be sure to bring cash (Euros, Dollars, or Turkish Lira), as the ATM rates here...
