After a bad experience with the previous hotel where we stayed in our trip, we arrived at Vista Hotel. From the outside we knew that this is a very nice place, not only how nice the decorations were, but also the good sense of style that made us feel good. We were welcomed by the hotel's manager and he was very nice to us, he knew English very well and we had a small good talk. We stayed in a gorgeous room with a great view, that view is breathtaking, incomparable. It had a vintage style, with antique decorations. Somehow the house made us feel very good, comfortable, it was very cozy. Here I had the same feeling that I have when I go to my parents house, my home. I just love that place and the energy that gave me. We have met the house manager (who was a her actually), a very nice person, very friendly. She told us stories about Göreme almost every time we met her in the hotel. The breakfast, oh, that breakfast, so fresh so good, so tasty. On the terrace we ate some goodies with that lovely view, which made me feel like a sultan all over the city. Even it's sunrise, sunset, or the middle of the night, the view is breathtaking. Thank you Yvette for making our staying pleasant.

We were greeted by Shenol (sp?) the owner late in the evening to check in. He is very kind, great sense of humor, and very hospitable. I love this about Turkish people. These 9 beautifully decorated unique cave rooms are cozy and our room had a balcony with views of the spectacular hot air balloons from the comfort of our private balcony with coffee in hand at 6am. There are two terrace areas one where a traditional Turkish breakfast is served and the one on top with a Birds Eye view of all of Goreme. Erhan (sp?) was always very kind, helpful, and catering to all of our needs. Shonal recommended the red tour for us with the best guide. He was both funny and extremely knowledgeable about the history of Turkey. We came to find out he was a professor. His name was khakar (sp). They even provided us with an early morning to go bag of breakfast snacks with water! We so appreciated the experience and time we spent sitting on a bench in front of the hotel talking to both Shenol and Ethan drinking Turkish tea and talking for hours. Highly recommend this family owned fabulous hotel. Top notch in every way! I’m coming back with the rest of my family! Loved the experience!

Such an amazing experience! Family-owned business, the owner and his Australian wife are the most helpful hosts you can find. Always happy to give you some nice Turkish tea, some good advice about where to go and what to eat, and you can gain some real perspective on the life in the area and the history from them, they are so lovely and always up for a chat! The hotel itself is incredible, the interior is even more beautiful and authentic is you would think. The View From the Terrace and the windows is breathtaking even on those days when the balloons are not flying due to the wind. You will get breakfast truly made with love by locals. If you are visiting Kappadokya, this is the place to stay!

I booked the Vista Cave Hotel off a recommendation from a colleague. My stay started out great. The check-in experience was pleasant and I thought this was going to be a wonderful stay…||||…that is until my last night when I had a friend VISIT for about an hour. Yes, I said VISIT. They did not stay the night nor had plans to. Once during our visit, around 10:30pm, the owner had one of the hotel associates knock on my door to ask when I was leaving in the morning. I thought this was odd to be asking such a question at that time of night. Although this was rude, unnecessary, and late, I told them around 7am. My friend then left and few moments later, around 11:45pm, I hear ANOTHER knock on my door. The same hotel worker handed me his phone to speak with the owner. The owner had been sitting at home, late at night with nothing else apparently to do, watching the cameras to see who came and went. He FLIPPED OUT on me asking why I didn’t check with reception (on the next floor up) to have someone in my room. I told him, “I didn’t think it was necessary for someone to VISIT, not stay the night.” I told him I travel the world, and I had never had anyone react the way he did for a visitor. He said he didn’t care about the rest of the world, and this was “rude” in his country. ||||I again stressed to him my friend had been VISITING, not staying. He told me, “I know, I watched them leave!” Although I felt it was completely unnecessary for the late night interruptions, and even with the understanding they were just visiting, I apologized. Frazzled, he then hung up the phone on me. ||||Had the owner not unnecessarily flipped out, I would’ve left this hotel a good review. Breakfast was mediocre. My room was clean. ||||However, I will never stay here again, and I advise you not to if there’s a chance you may have a friend visit for an hour or so. Apparently, the owner has nothing better to do than sit at home and watch cameras to see who comes and goes room by room, and chastise his guests if they have a visitor over for an hour. I don’t know if the owner has some prejudices, preconceived notions, or what, but I can’t understand why a guest having a friend over for a short time...

Vista Cave Hotel is a true legend. From the moment we came in, we were welcomed with great hospitality and the owner (Senol) happily gave us a lot of information about Cappadocia, including recommended restaurants, marking them out carefully on a map. Every time we see him, he is always super enthusiastic and funny, making us feel at home.

Our room was clean, organised and comfortable, the bed sheets being the softest and bestest we’ve ever had in a hotel. Along with the vibes and coziness, such an awesome experience.

The terrace above the reception is also very beautiful and perfect for pictures, you can see all the valleys and unique views, where capturing photos are a simple task. With this rooftop, we now have ambient pictures of the hot air balloons during sunrise and the glowy sky during sunset.

Now, the breakfast. Every morning we look forward to having their scrumptious and traditional Turkish foods. Everything is so thoughtful and considerate. You can rarely find any staff so detailed and sweet like this.

Zabu the receptionist is also really knowledgeable and easy to talk to, helpful and communicative.

From the rooms, breakfast, people and the most amazing terrace ever, this place is a must stay during your visit in Cappadocia. We ourselves, will definitely come back also.

Highly recommended, you will endure a...
