The service was very, very nice - they always welcomed us with a smile. It our my first hotel ever when the receptionist took our luggage upstairs to our room for us - that didn't happen even in all-inclusive hotels on canary islands. Receptionists spoke perfect english. ||The location of the hotel is wonderful - very close to the 'old town' / city center / restaurants, but near a small dead-end street in a very quiet neighborhood. ||The room has air conditioning and heaters, we were there in the winter and the temperature in the room was comfortable. ||The hotel has no elevator, so there's a bit of walking when your room is on the 4th floor. ||There is a machine with free coffee at the ground floor. The hotel provided a toothpaste and slippers, which is quite a rare thing and definitely a plus. ||The room was cleaned every day and the towels were changed, but the cleaning wasn't very thorough. ||The bathroom had an electric towel-hanger/drier which was a nice addition, but otherwise the bathroom was the biggest disadvantage of our room. The toilet made squeaky noises when opening/closing it. The shower leaked the water onto the floor. The ventilator on the ceiling condensed steam from the shower and it kept dripping with water. There was no lamp above the mirror. ||The wifi and tv...
Read moreEarlier this month had a two night stay in the Blum Hotel, Lviv.||||The location couldn't be better, a great range of options for breakfast, and all of the staff were very very helpful - sincere people. This is perhaps one of the best hotels I've stayed at in regards this - you often find many nice staff, and 1 or 2 bad apples / poor people. Not the case here, first class.||||What I would however say, is the hotel does require TLC. Receptionist allowed to move from the first to fourth floor - which was a lot better. The room on the first floor required a lot of work.||Also, the soundproofing for hearing other rooms wasn't great - not sure what the solution is here, and the door didn't fit the hinges properly. Had to put a towel under the door for sleep.||||Would hope work will be done prior to 2020, otherwise if I stayed again I wouldn't be able to...
Read moreLack of water and terrible management... |I booked a room at this hotel for three nights. On the last day, when we return to the hotel sweating after a day's walk, we realize that there is no water. The receptionist told us that one of the neighbors had cut off the water and there was nothing she could do. As it was our last night in Lviv, after two hours of waiting, we decided to change the hotel and that was the beginning of the problem. The hotel manager told us he wouldn't refund us the full amount for the last night as it was after 12am. After a short talk, we decided not to continue the pointless discussion, they refunded us some of the money for the last night (not the full amount) and we moved to another hotel. I do not...
