This hotel makes a review really difficult for us.
To keep it short: For us, the Marriott Marquis Dubai The Creek only deserves 2 out of 5 stars. Unfortunately, there were too many small things that simply could have gone better. The hotel opened in March 2024, maybe that's why. Or maybe our rating is due to the fact that from the very beginning, many things did not go as they should have.
I will never forget the bewildered question from our taxi driver: "No service?" he asked us when no one from the hotel staff came to help us unload our luggage. The same story happened at check-out. There too, we had to load our luggage into the taxi ourselves under the gaze of the hotel staff.
Fun fact: At check-in, we mentioned that we had to unload our suitcases ourselves. This was followed by an apology and the assurance that this would be passed on to the management. So much for how things work in this hotel.
Check-in was normal. Our room wasn't ready upon our early arrival around 1:30 PM. Okay, no problem. Due to our status with Marriott Bonvoy, we were invited to the M Club. It would take 30-60 minutes for the room to be ready. After about 2.5 hours, it was finally ready. Just before 4 PM, a room was available for us.
It was then large, spacious, and well-located. However, it was certainly not the room that was originally intended for us. This solution seemed born out of necessity. The room was okay for us. From other hotels, we're used to finding at least a card or a small welcome gift in the room. That wasn't the case here. Also, from other hotels, we know that guests receive a small gesture when facing problems like we did during check-in. That didn't happen here either. To summarize: All the staff were very friendly but overwhelmed with our check-in situation.
The M Club is nicely designed. All staff members (except for one woman on our last evening who was probably covering for colleagues on their day off - she was playing more on her mobile than serving guests) were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good, and so was the beverage selection. However, the preparation of cocktails could use some improvement. The food during happy hour was rather on the lower end. The taste was good, but the selection and presentation still have much room for improvement. It was completely incomprehensible that there was suddenly no more Diet Pepsi. This was already noticeable days in advance when they switched from cans to bottles, and then suddenly it was: "Sorry, we don't have it anymore." Here, the F&B manager might want to reflect and, if necessary, go to the supermarket across the street.
Housekeeping was okay. For a hotel with this standard, cleanliness could have been better. The evening service was not done at all on some days, done sloppily on others, and very well on yet others.
The hotel looks nice. However, considering it's not even a year old, one wonders about the various spots that are simply visually deficient. Many places were really shoddily and cheaply built here. But it seems that's enough for Marriott.
The location is okay. Once you've crossed the large intersection near the hotel, it's just a few minutes' walk to the nearest metro station.
There are definitely better hotels in Dubai. Even better Marriotts that cost as much, are possibly better located, and offer a much better overall package. Therefore, we cannot recommend this hotel further. We won't be...

The lobby is just sumptuous, huge chandelier is mesmerizing and modern. Check in by a swift and welcoming Tanzim at the Client Relations desk. Great explanation of what was on offer and included, professional but warm and kind
Junior suite high floor with a view was lush modern, warm colours. Big floor space with zones for desks, sofas, TV and a great big bed, with as requested 4 medium firm pillows.
Big bathroom with seperate dressing area, separate wet room with big bath and big shower, and separate toilet with bidet. Great bathroom products, squeeky clean. Nice towels!
Love the Lavazza espresso machine in my junior suite, yummy to have a fresh coffee when waking up. And, electric curtains and net curtains, floor to ceiling.
Even thought is a brand new hotel, am surprised there is no usb-c sockets ....
M-Club lounge tad overcrowded during breakfast and evening canape reception, lovely service and welcoming feel, and the chef preparing little dishes on the spot is a great addition. Nice views and a lovely outside terrace. Again, great coffee machine ! And soft drinks through out the day.
The pool staff/waiter assisting in the M-Club lounge on the evening of the 24th to add service level was a great touch and efficient, a mocktail was quickly prepared and served.
Pool on 2nd floor was a good size with shallow and deeper levels, enabling an easy entry for me with some back issues. Temperature spot on, clean, lots of loungers and fluffy towels provided. Friendly staff, the young man with the great bright sunglasses wat attentive and professional/chatty.
Restaurant breakfast was very good, again, a barista making fresh Lavazza espresso, and Bufesh, a superb chef, making at the buffet the tastiest omelet with perfect medium texture (not runny and not too hard fried), it was one of the best hotel omelets I have had in a long time.
Bravo Bufesh!
Great fried rice and, yum, bread and butter pudding with fresh custard. And fresh water Melon, and its juice, breads, seasoned fried mushrooms, all good quality with attention to details.
Doorman Henry, strapping man, was always at had to welcome me when arriving by taxi, and when booking a taxi. Always on the lookout for being of service, Chapeau.
All staff, supervisors, Duty Managers and the F&B Manager I briefly encountered, all were ever so professional yet friendly, taking interest, and showing true Dubai hospitality, it was a coherent, smooth, modern, warm welcoming and professional service.
As a former IHG Regional Account manager EMEA, now semi retired, I greatly appreciate what great people add to the already good hard product, and , this stay, I will not forget easily.
And, at a very special rate due to the hot summer months, this was exceptional value for money. Can't fault it.
Hello Marriott! Please share this...
Read moreComing from somebody who spent 100+ nights in various Marriott's in Dubai last year (Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador Elite) on business, I can say that this is, hands-down the best of them all. I have really struggled to find a Marriott to call 'home' in Dubai. They seem to be below par, way too impersonal or their prices fluctuate way too much, limiting the possibility to show loyalty. Normally it's a combination off all three! Then the Marriott Marquis arrives on the scene and it is an absolute game-changer. I'm only on stay two now (didn't want to write a review after stay one, just in case it was a fluke!) and from the initial arrival experience, where I was warmly welcomed by, on this occasion, the oh so welcoming Yousef, I then checked-in with ThanThan and I knew it was going to be a great experience! ThanThan was so attentive and polite and it was as an informed a check in that I have ever had at any Marriott. Yousef then got my bags to the room promptly, and proceeded to show me the room amenities and ask if I needed anything else to make my stay 'perfect'! The facilities in the hotel are absolutely excellent, the gym is well equipped and the common areas are spotless. I don't know who it is that plays the harp and piano in the reception area, but she is just wonderful and I look forward to saying hello on a future visit. I have yet to fully experience all of the outlets, but I had a work meeting in Copperhead and it was great. the atmosphere in there is amazing and my team were well cared for by Naveed. And then there is the Executive Lounge! Without doubt the best I have experienced in the UAE (excluding Ritz-Carlton's, to be fair, but you really pay for that!). A great team operating in a great space with a great offering!! What more could you ask for? It even has an very spacious outside space, which is a first for me in this region! Age restrictions mean under 12's are not allowed, but as a dad of a 12 and 14 year old, I get that. The team here are just great. Aouatif met me when I arrived and made me feel very much at home. After that Maria was just so welcoming and the experience was cemented by the amazing Rahul, who will efficiently keep your drinks replenished during happy hour no matter how busy it is! This hotel only falls a little short on location, but that's not the end of the world. I've tried every Marriott close to my work and they don't come close to the Marriot Marquis, so I would far rather stay in a hotel like this where I am welcomed like a family member and have a slightly longer journey to my meetings, than stay at the likes of the JW (for example!)where, after 10+ stays I'm still a stranger to all staff and pay at least double the price! I'll try to update as I stay here more and experience more of the outlets, but for now, I am happy to have found my home...
