Xian Tang Lou Restaurant 仙 湯 楼 — Restaurant in Dubai

This is my first visit to XTL and I don't know if it has a branch elsewhere. My review will be as follows;

1. Taste: Not quite there. Can't say it is totally tasteless but the cook could have put more effort to improve taste. One of the dish I ordered is beef fried noodles, and the beef isn't fresh and overly cured, thus eliminating the taste altogether. Fried bean is salty but not well seasoned. I would have expected Chinese restaurant to season their food will, but not this one. I also ordered chicken fried rice, it has the taste but lacking in heat and seasoning.

2. Portion is big and well presented.

3. Ambiance is cosy, clean and not noisy, but I came early around 12.00 noon.

4. Price is medium to high, three dishes cost me AED75.00

5. Service: Considered slow in view of the fact that my wife and I were the only two customers...

Best Chinese restaurant in the UAE. I want to say its the BEST restaurant in general but I might be a little biased. I’ve been ordering from it for years and it never fails to be delicious. Their service is amazing and especially ordering from them is the best you can get here (they’re always generous with the sauces, tissues and chopsticks). Everything on the menu is fantastic but especially the fried noodles are exemplary. Everything is so authentic and even the restaurant itself has a cozy, authentic feel to it that makes it charming. People complain that it’s small and maybe even a bit rustic but I think it adds to the appeal. I have told everyone how great this restaurant is and I hope they open again soon. I patronized this restaurant through Careem and would order food multiple times per week. They would always insert a flyer to promote their premium best seller dish called Mala Xiang Guo that is priced at Dhs. 79. Today, I gave it a try. The first bite was unbelievably SALTY! I still tried to dig in expecting the taste to be better, but the more I tried, the more SALTY the dish gets! It is like putting a spoonful of salt inside your mouth! I requested the dish to be replaced but my request fell on deaf ears. I lost Dhs. 79 but you lost a loyal customer! Never will I buy food from this restaurant ever again!
