I recently visited WeMart in Deira, Dubai, and had a wonderful experience that I’d love to share. Located conveniently in the bustling area of Deira, WeMart offers a delightful blend of shopping and dining, making it a one-stop destination for both locals and visitors.

The supermarket on the first floor is impressive, stocked with a wide variety of products ranging from fresh produce, meats, and seafood to international groceries and household items. The layout is well-organized, making it easy to find everything you need. The staff is friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any inquiries or to help locate items. The quality of the products is excellent, and I found the prices to be quite reasonable compared to other supermarkets in the area.

The real highlight for me was the food court on the ground floor. It offers an array of delicious food options that cater to diverse tastes. From authentic Asian cuisine to local favorites, there’s something for everyone. I tried several dishes, and each one was bursting with flavor and made with fresh ingredients. The food court has a lively atmosphere, with plenty of seating and a clean, well-maintained environment. It’s a great place to enjoy a meal with family or friends after shopping upstairs.

Food tastes great with lots of variety. We enjoy the Laksa with seafood.

Unfortunately some beverages of them, particularly the mixed yakult drink with fruit which we ordered, are contaminated with insect. Please be careful and inspect the drink before consuming as it might be a health hazzard.

We went to the manager to report the insect from our drinks but the manager did not take any action when the situation was reported. After few minutes, the manager went to our table and explained that the insect might be from the area itself. The manager did not symphatize for the unfortunate event and also claims that the insect did not come from them. They offered us a replacement drink which we declined because we think that the drink is being made by batch and the batch is contaminated with the crawling insect.

Summary as per our experience: Positive: tasty food with lots of selections Negative: very poor customer service (Even with the manager), Some contaminated beverage

** I think the manager should’ve symphatized with the customer, checked the batch of drinks for possible contamination and ensured that the batch of drinks was not served to other people instead of offering us a drink which we reported for contamination. Very poor managerial skills and needs to be trained.

The supermarket has wide variety of products, however I do feel it was overpriced compared to competitors. I saw a cockroach by the seafood items… which makes me question the hygiene practises behind the scenes. Downstairs same building has Wemart’s own food court selling various hot food items, cooked seafood, sushi, noodles, bakery and bubble tea drinks. Attitude from staff is not good. I did not encounter even one friendly server. Not allowed to customise bubble tea drinks ie substitute jelly for pudding. Shocking! Is it really that difficult to customise my own drink as per worldwide industry standards…? I didn’t think I was asking for too much but clearly in this case it was too much of a challenge. Furthermore the Filipino female staff was seen filling up noodle plates up to sky high for fellow kabayan customers, however for my plate it barely even fills out to the sides…. Terrible!!! I even took a picture as proof. Prices all exclude VAT, expensive and tiny portions, and even for dine in they are charging on top for food containers, citing covid as an excuse 🙄 crazy…how else are we supposed to eat… and as far as I know Covid restrictions were relaxed a long time ago.. this is just a poor excuse to rip off the customers for your own pockets.
