My wife and I had a wonderful stay here in early June 22, staying in the Super King suite. ||The room had recently been redecorated, so is now a lovely shade of purple. ||The location of the guesthouse is perfect, it’s quiet enough that you don’t get noisy nights if you want windows open, a 2 minute walk from the promenade / beach and a 5 minute walk from the shops and resultants of St James Street. The town centre is about 8 mins, so everything is easily accessible. ||I pre-arranged parking permits, and was able to find a space in the road outside on a Monday afternoon and could check the car from the hotel window. ||The breakfast / snack tray and drinks / biscuits were a lovely touch and very welcome. ||We saw Jeremy and the team on most days as they’re around doing jobs, and everyone was really friendly, helpful and attentive. ||I was slightly nervous at first about the contactless hotel idea, and the key being in a box outside the room upon arrival, but it works well and actually makes trips to the beach really handy if you don’t want to carry your key (just don’t forget the code!!). The front door code was simple to use and the door was shut from early evening. ||The bathroom was clearly newly fitted and all worked perfectly (good toilet flush!!), however for a shortie like me (5’3”) I did struggle to reach some of the fittings, and couldn’t reach the high towel rail at all. ||Hairdryer could do with updating, I think someone has broken it so the heat couldn’t be changed. ||The catches on the windows didn’t seem to be working properly, but I’ve had this type of window in my own home and I know how easy they are to break, and they are original windows so you really can’t expect them to be perfect. The floor to ceiling windows were lovely though, and an amazing feature for the room. ||It was a very warm week in June, so a thinner duvet would have been handy as it was sweltering, but the fans really helped. ||All in all, I thought the hotel and room was great, and I will definitely be looking to return...
Read moreWe are a stone grow away from the Brighton pier and the beach is so close To the hotel, we booked in to the hotel and we had a message from the owner a couple of days before we were supposed to book in saying that they have upgraded a room for free. We are in such a lovely cosy room. We have a big TV that has great sound and picture on it, lots of room to move around and we were surprised that we have a refrigerator in the room, no hotels have that so we were shocked that we had a refrigerator. We have gone away on our honeymoon and this has just been the best experience we have ever had. I will be staying here again 100% next year in the summer. If I was you, if you want somewhere to stay, that’s cheap cosy and so close to the beach. I would recommend staying here the owner is amazing and helpful I cannot express how lovely the housekeeping is. He was so lovely every time that we passed him he would be smiling and greeting us in the morning. You cannot hear any foot traffic at all through the building. I love the fact that the bathroom is ensuite and we have a shower we have shampoo and conditioner with soap already supplied. I could not believe the little complimentary refreshment on the side as we walked into the room. We have stayed here for one week and we have loved it. It’s been the best break away from London that we could have asked for the bed is the most comfiest bed we’ve ever slept on. I don’t think my husband has slept in a better bed than this. He has had the best night sleep here it is so lovely. The room is so clean and the decor is so cute. I love the fact that there are little touches in the room with the lamps and the mirrors and the mirror the lights up in the bathroom and the wardrobe. I cannot wait to come back to the Brighton surf hotel in the summer again. we had a laugh because a little seagull came to say hello to us at the window. Thank you so much for such an amazing experience. We have had the best experience ever....
Read moreI came here with my partner over NYE and was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. It was spotlessly clean in an amazing location right opposite the seafront. The owner, Jeremy, emailed me before our arrival, providing us with details about the best travel routes and discounts on restaurants nearby. There was also the opportunity to have our room cleaned daily, with the option to have our snack tray refreshed - which was a massive bonus for us! We are not early risers so this hotel suited us perfectly. Jeremy allows you to come and go as you please, as the hotel is self check-in. A lot of BnBs in Brighton don't have this option, meaning you have to be back at a certain time. It was refreshing to receive emails but not be bombarded by staff and other people every time you entered the hotel. The only thing I will add is if you're not used to Victorian or dated houses then be aware that pipework noises are noticeable and you can hear footsteps from floors above. But this is to be expected in an old building. Overall, we had a fabulous stay and will hopefully be returning...
