I booked 3 nights here in mid-December for my wife and I to relax and also celebrate a big occasion. Upon arrival parking was easy. We were greeted promptly and attentively by a very friendly and welcoming host, Andrea. She advised us they had just taken over ownership of the business only days earlier! Well what can I say about the service here?! Despite the challenges she must have had with family being here, there and everywhere, Christmas being almost upon us and all the extra work that involves, and still finding her feet in a brand new business she was incredible throughout and nothing (and I mean NOTHING!) was too much trouble. The room was lovely and clean, the building and features beautiful, breakfast lovely (she didn't bat an eyelid at us arriving right at the end of the breakfast window and expecting a full cooked English!) and service superb. The location is excellent- Chinese take away 20 second walk. Pub and restaurants within a minutes walk. Tesco within 5 minute walk. Walks to waterfalls 10 minutes or so.. I don't know what Andrea has done previously but I'm absolutely sure this place will only go from strength to strength with her at the reins because reading between the lines it's clear she has a real attention to detail and to great service, and just as important, she's just a really nice and honest person. We would go back here with no hesitation. If you're torn over where to stay, let this review guide you! Thank you for a lovely stay and best...
Read moreSo this is no longer a B&B but a holiday let. Sleeps 14 comfortable, loads of bathrooms even if each bedroom does not have an ensuite. (Shower in the only twin room is amazing) The 2 sitting rooms are perfect as only one has a TV in it, we went with 4 kids so they could watch their cartoons whilst others could have quiet time in a comfortable sofa. The dining room easily fits everyone staying, but the kitchen is very small and is stocked with a large cooker, air fryer, kettle, 4 slot toaster, dishwasher and a deceptively small microwave.
There are 2 fridges and a large freezer, plus a washer/dryer.
There was a few issues we came across, but most were sorted quickly. Although do take extra toilet roll as they don't leave enough if you are staying for a week.
Only thing that was missing was there was no airer, so struggled to dry wet clothes that couldn't be tumble dried. Which was all of the waterproofs! Lovely British weather.
Parking - we got 4 cars in the carpark easily
Location - couldn't ask for better in Ambleside within easy walk of the shops and restaurants, plus the bus station and the play park. Lovely base for a week of walking...
Read moreWe were very impressed by the amazing reviews Easedale Lodge has received so far, and accordingly were looking forward to our stay there. To cut a long story short: our ten days in the Lake District were absolutely and unequivocally wonderful, and the B&B played no small role in that.
Sarah greeted us as soon as we arrived, and offered to help us with our bags, and after a quick tour of the B&B showed us to our room, no. 2, which was very tastefully decorated with the works of local artists, and overall extremely clean and well presented.
Breakfast was a delight every morning, and the variety was almost endless – we especially liked the local coffee and tea. Dave's cooking always hit the spot, and made sure we had a good morning.
Easedale is located in comfortable distance to all local amenities, and Sarah & Dave have both been helpful in pointing out the best places for eating, hiking, etc.
It's been one of the most pleasant holiday experiences both of us have had, and we'd most...
