The hotel is undoubtedly unique & we found our room clean & our check in staff friendly. The bed & pillows were comfy & we didn’t mind the outside noise- this is expected in central London. |However, it fell short on a few little things…….and one big thing. |The room provides a coffee machine and coffee pods, but no milk, I had to go ask, which is odd. But turns out it didn’t matter anyway as ours didn’t work. I don’t think it was plugged in, but could not find a way to reach the socket for it. I’m sure I could have complained, but it didn’t seem worth the hassle. |The curtains didn’t quite reach the edges of the windows so we were awoken by a stream of (beautiful!) sunlight at 5am. |We were gifted 2 free drinks in the bar as it was our anniversary (a very kind touch), but when we went to use them before we left, we were told the bar isn’t open on a Sunday. Given we were there for a weekend stay, it could have been previously mentioned. |And the biggest issue- our 3am wake up call courtesy of the fire alarm……which took about an hour to stop. Now, my issue isn’t that it happened- that is not within the control of the hotel, and the night staff were very kind. My issue is the complete lack of acknowledgment or apology in the morning when we checked out. Not a mention. Not a check that we had managed to get back to sleep. In fact, the staff member who checked us out couldn’t have been more dismissive. |For the price you pay, I’d have expected more attention to detail & better customer service. There are so many options at a similar price point in London, we won’t...
Read moreWe used to visit London a lot pre Covid and for years have always stayed at the W Hotel Leicester Square, as we have status with the Marriot Bonvoy program. This trip however we decided to try something new as we’d heard good things about the Chateau Denmark and wanted to try it out. What an amazing find it was! Location is amazing right in the heart of all our favourite cafes and bars. Service was exceptional, from the moment you arrive at the hotel until the time you leave, everyone goes out of their way to help! And to take it to the next level they have a private butler service to help with anything you need from preparing private drinks to helping with last minute work emergencies Noise & light proof rooms to ensure if you want to stay up late you’re not disturbing anyone else or alternatively sleep in late without being woken by the hustle and bustle of the area Furnishing and Fittings are seriously next level with a combination of art deco and gothic design which felt unique and truly inspired by an amazing creative vision Each apartment is unique and we were lucky enough to get upgraded to one of the top apartments with a seriously impressive sound system which you’d only normally find in a commercial nightclub! And did I mention the rooms are huge This hotel is perfect for anyone looking for a unique experience that you just don’t expect to find in London. We’ve already booked our next stay, as it’s now our new favourite...
Read moreWe booked Chateau Denmark as we struggled to get our usual hotel, and despite the lack of reviews to get a good feel of the place we're glad we did!
When we pulled up in the taxi all we could see was a plaque and a dark tunnel that became alive with light & music as we went through to reception. We were assigned Alin as our butler for the weekend, whatever we needed we could contact Alin and he'd get it. Note that if you're an international traveller you'll need to call a UK number to contact him!
The rooms are amazing, especially visually, it's only been open since April 2022 so everything is still new and fresh. The room appears to be sound proofed as they recommended giving the room sound system a go, I didn't get any complaints when I did. The room bar is impressive but naturally it does come at a cost so be warned. Your butler will make any drinks you want. Check the prices on the TV. The bed is very comfortable but I did have problems sleeping as our room overlooked Tottenham court road and on a Saturday night it's busy! I'm a light sleeper, which didn't help.
The only restaurant on site serves dinner, so you'll need to find breakfast elsewhere. You're in the heart of London so this shouldn't be a problem.
In summary this is a great place to stay and was unforgettable, the location was perfect, service spot on! Oh and I also bought two bottles of the body wash, it smells really,...
