MANAGER SERVED ME A DRINK WITH SHARDS OF BROKEN GLASS AT THE BOTTOM OF IT.
Two nights ago, I went to the Tottenham Court Road branch of Vapiano with a friend, and I had a shocking experience that compels me to share my story. The manager, during our visit, served me a drink with shards of broken glass at the bottom. This not only posed a serious health risk but also revealed a disturbing lack of care and responsibility on the part of the manager.
Upon receiving the cup with the concealed glass, I discovered the shards only after consuming a significant portion of the drink. The manager's response was utterly negligent; he showed no concern for my well-being or the potential harm caused by the glass in my mouth. Instead of offering assistance, he simply uttered a half-hearted apology, walked away, and remained unresponsive for the rest of our time in the restaurant, he did not ask if I was okay, if I had cut myself, if I needed a moment, some water? If I needed anything, not even my money back, he simply said "sorry", walked off and did not return to our table for the remainder of our time there. I managed to take pictures of the shards of glass i had to peel from my tongue and the surface of my mouth, however the manager had taken the drink away from me so i didnt get to take pictures of the remaining pieces swimming at the bottom of my drink (the cctv will show this), ive attached these se pictures as well as the pieces of glass i had found in my mouth after getting back home.
This incident, however, was just one aspect of a series of disappointments during our visit to Vapiano. From being misinformed about seating arrangements to a lack of customer service, the entire experience was marred by incompetence. The manager's dismissive attitude extended to other aspects, including difficulties in placing an order due to technical issues. Despite showing the manager that the online system wasn't working, he offered no practical solutions.
The culmination of these issues reached a dangerous point when I found glass in my drink. The manager's lackadaisical response to such a serious matter is deeply concerning. His failure to check for glass in the cup, combined with the absence of any follow-up or concern for my safety, raises questions about the professionalism and competence of Vapiano's management.
As a regular customer and university student, this experience has left me deeply disappointed and concerned. The manager's actions, or lack thereof, reflect poorly on Vapiano's commitment to customer safety and satisfaction. This incident should not be taken lightly, as it not only tarnishes the reputation of the restaurant but also poses a serious threat to the well-being of its patrons.
In conclusion, I believe it is crucial for Vapiano to address this matter promptly and take responsibility for the negligence displayed by its manager. Customers deserve a safe and respectful dining experience, and incidents like these should not be swept under the rug. I will continue to seek resolution and share my experience to caution others about the potential risks associated with dining at Vapiano. I look to hear back very...
Read moreCannot recommend. Came to this restaurant with a friend on a Friday night, mostly to shelter from the cold combined with the desire to avoid A/C. We were told to wait...before being taken to the waiting area where we could look at the menu (but not order!). We were finally showed a table upstairs, probably after a good 20min wait, however that table was taken. A waiter then offered two tables, one behind the staircase but with no reception (annoying when you need to place your order) and one upstairs but with A/C. We sat at the first one and I went over to the kitchen area to get enough reception and pay. It was about 8.20pm. I have to mention at this point in time, we had gone through the menu when seated downstairs and had noticed a few vegan items not available on the app, although listed in the paper version. My friend obviously selected among the few remaining vegan options available and I chose the king prawns with spinach and courgette pasta. At 8.50pm or so, my dish finally arrives and the waiter asks if we wanted vegan cheese as they had run out. We pointed out that in fact our order did not require vegan cheese. About 10min later another waiter comes and announces that they ran out of the dish my friend ordered. We were feeling both 'hangry' then, as I was waiting for my friend's order to come to start eating, and feeling our state, the waiter suggested that we speak to the manager. Except that wouldn't have brought the dish any faster, so eventually we convinced the waiter to just go ahead with ordering another vegan dish instead (btw, I didn't have to go through the app so it turns out that placing orders the old way works just fine). It came through in 2 minutes and we finally were able to eat. The food was ok, not amazing but thankfully not bad, though had way too much sauce for me - it was more of a soup.
Also, sorry, but docking points for that online order system they use: be careful when placing an order as gratuity is automatically added and you need to be careful as you could end up paying 100% of your order as gratuity on top. Will never go back and would...
Read moreNot great. About £14 for a carbonara and definitely not the greatest. Undercooked for my liking and bland. Quite small portions as well considering just cheap pasta I can make in about fifteen minutes but I wanted to see what they can do.
Not lime in my mineral water or ice which would have been nice. . It’s just there’s no attention to detail here. The nice touches restaurants provide are lacking. It’s more like one if those eating places that think less is more.
Good size place and quite nice atmosphere but I feel it’s let down by mediocre food. When I order something like a pasta out I’m expecting a lot as it’s the easiest thing to make. Also one of the cheapest.
When you order the standard process is you sign into their WiFi and order online. The place is completely segmented from human interaction. I didn’t use WiFi and ordered through their management as the waiter told me this was required as I did not have my mobile with me. I’m not comfortable being asked personal information anyway. You get asked for your full name, email and date of birth just to order a meal online. That’s a tad excessive in my opinion and unnecessary. Glad to know you can avoid it though. It’s where we are heading I guess. Every eating place will be ordering this way or by using a machine. It’s the questions they ask that I don’t like so I end up just lying anyway. I work in tech do I understand all this. I also understand why.
I do like the open kitchen. Personally I’d prefer nets for the chefs with beards as more hygienic. I’d say even head hair is cleaner than a beard hair. Perhaps that can be changed for hygiene? Minor thing that can easily be improved.
The prod are the large size and seating. The downside is it’s a bit of a hassle to order and the food could be improved in my opinion. It’s not dreadful. It just could be better. It is in an economy ad I’ve part of London though so all things considered it’s not bad overall.
Italian restaurants are not my favourite anyway because most of the stuff on the menu I can do quite easily myself . Going out means it’s hot to be much better. I...
