Cacio&Pepe — Restaurant in London

We booked a dinner at Caccio e Pepe for an anniversary with my partner with great expectations as my friend recomended to me. I've booked standart area which supposed to be on the ground floor, instead we were offered to be outside...While my partner was waiting upstairs I went downstairs to look for a bathroom and see how is it looking there as we haven't been before, I've been really shocked with altitude of the manager who was telling of the waitress which was trying to help us. He started to shout at her in the front of us that she shouldn't let us go downstairs but we needed to wait upstairs. He was looking really mad, he can not do that in the front of the customers at first and at second she was really nice and helpful, later I felt her embarrassed and she was saying sorry instead of him. We sat at the table started to check the menu, manager came after a while to bring a water, pour it on the table too, one glass fell by his mistake, I was feeling the bad athmosphere already too much...We left as we weren't feeling comfortable, hopefully this review gonna reach someone who can solve this as he can't do this in the front of the customers and he can't talk like this to his colleague... so...

It promised to be a great experience and seemed like a good choice—until the end of the night, when everything went downhill simply because we were tourists. When we first arrived, we were greeted by a young woman who appeared to be the manager. She was actually very polite and attentive with us. Later on, the waitresses took over, and I want to emphasize that they were EXTREMELY KIND. I highlight this because the manager repeatedly showed a lack of professionalism and leadership, treating the staff poorly and with clear disdain.

As I said, the evening started off perfectly: the food was good, and the service was genuinely friendly. But when it came time to pay, we were completely ripped off. They must have seen us as easy targets—just tourists to take advantage of. On top of what we thought were fair food prices, they added £5 for tap water and a 12.5% service charge on the total bill that was not mentioned in the menu at all.

In the end, we paid—smiling, as one does—but we left feeling completely scammed. Needless to say, we would never recommend a place that treats its...

We went tonight to have a dinner but we needed to run away. We were welcomed in such a terrible and awful way. The manager or the person in charge started to yelling at the girl (apparently was working both in the bar and on the floor) just because we went in the dining area downstairs, without being checked in. We felt so sorry for the girl that was told off and embarrassed of his behaviour that was abusive and ridiculous. Cause of the lack of customers service and unacceptable attitude in front of customers, we left the restaurant after 5 minutes our arrival, disappointed about the experience, and sorry for the girl that clearly would not be able to make drinks, sitting customers, and serve table already sitting all at the same time. The manager supposed to take her aside after the shift rather than creating a soap opera in front of customers, which ruined our mood as well as the FHO staff member, that was visibly ashamed of him. Furthermore, i assume that supposed to be one of his duty to welcome people and sit reservations...
