This property smelled in general & had an overwhelming smell of chemical, cleaning products as if it was trying to mask the underlying odor. Upon check in, we were NOT notified the property would be undergoing renovations during our stay nor were we told the pool was out of service. The outdoor pool was a major factor in choosing this property as we were travelling with 4 children ages 11 and under.
Guests received notes under their door late Monday night that the water was going to be SHUT OFF from 10am - 3pm the following day. ZERO notice. Better hope you didn't have plans to sleep in on vacation & that you were up & ready by 10am or you were out of luck! We had yellow water coming out of the faucet THAT morning at 8 am. We also experienced an A/C that did not cool, no clean towels repeatedly due to the hotel's washing machines were out of order, the internet was down because of problems with AT&T per the employees, bedside lamp outlets that did not work & a bedside lamp that quit working. They began replacing the roof at 7 am while guests are there on vacation without any warning! AGAIN, a note had been slipped under our door DURING THE NIGHT but was not found until the pounding jolted my kids and me from a deep sleep that morning AT 7 AM!!!
Turning the water off in a hotel that is filled with guests is unconscionable and I wonder how the City of Arlington Health Code Enforcement would view that since it was NOT due to an emergency and we did NOT receive adequate notice to make other arrangements.
Charging full price, competitive rates when your property is under renovations and not disclosing that information to your guests is deceitful. When told about the problems, I received an email from the General Manager that read he had now "created a cute cartoon for guests at check in that said the hotel was undergoing renovations" & that things were bad now but that was the reason for the renovations. Marriott Corporate recommended in writing to the GM that I should be comped 100% for my stay. His resolution was a lame email to me and closed the case telling Marriott Corporate that the issue had been resolved. WRONG! My friend and I spent almost $1000 between us for a 3 night stay. Trust me. This was not worth $1000! Fairfield Inn & Suites has a 100% satisfaction promise. I am not satisfied nor has FI&S fulfilled their promise. And the GM is still refusing to refund my stay per Corporate telling him three...
Read moreManagement claims I got platinum elite status in less than 60 days then booked a flight from Baltimore to Dallas, got a $450 rental car, and traveled with empty carry on bags so we could steal their coveted decorative pillows. They charged me $50 without any contact, note or explanation on the bill. I contacted their front desk who couldn't answer why. I was told AGM (who is actually operations manager) would contact me the next day... Instead I called in. She accused me multiple times of taking the pillow(s?) still don't know how many because we never saw them. She even said she "knew" the person that usually stays in the room and he wouldn't take them! Yet somehow she knows me well enough after never meeting from a single night stay to say no she won't refund until I return the pillows... That I don't have! She claims she will do an investigation and get back to me. Nope! Another 4 days passes and I call and she claims she just finished her. "Investigation" and won't refund me. Don't know what evidence she has other than he said/she said so I ignore her and go to corporate. Every company that's big enough has at least one crazy right? But nope. Corp opens a ticket and the gm replies that his crazy employee was just following policy of making accusations with no evidence and stealing my money. So now I'm opening a dispute with my credit card since the asinine staff can't figure out that the guy staying 365 nights a year in a hotel isn't the guy you accuse of stealing with no evidence. Next I file a theft charge against them since I clearly have evidence of them taking my money and they don't have a single boot of evidence of us taking their hotel pillows... It sounds insane to even say out loud. Robes, slippers, umbrellas, towels sure. Never have, but some places have nice stuff... But the Fairfield inn pillows that are what? Months? Years old? Yuk! This was my first and probably last stay at a Fairfield. I only choose this one because it was next to the baby shower we flew in for. But to this poor excuse of a hotel team, flew in for a baby shower, rented a Volvo, platinum elite equals pillow thief. This sort of extreme behavior causes me to question if they were motivated by some other factor such as race, or ethnicity. I am disgusted by the upper managements accusations and...
