Pirates of Speelunker Cave — Local services in Arlington

Yeah, I'm going to be honest here. Our youngest enjoyed it, but for the rest of us the key highlight was getting out of the sun. It was very confusing, the later sections seemed to pump the air with a sweet fragrance that was nauseating, and overall it was a confusing and surrealistic dark ride. Putting that aside, I'd say that it WOULD be a nice ride for kids if it were not for the fact that early in the ride the sound effects were so loud they might scare younger children. If they would turn it down some I would give it a higher rating. But parents be warned; let your kids know that they might want to cover thier ears shortly after entering the tunnel and until the loud explosion shortly after the raining scene with the pirates ship. I’m so so so glad Six Flags finally brought the old Speelunkers back!! My parents always told me about this ride from when they were young and I had seen so many photos and always wanted to experience it! The lil guys are so cute and you can tell so much work and effort went into updating this ride. I love the colors and effects and the cool 60s vibe it gives off haha. Unfortunately it seems as most of the bad reviews are from people who don’t understand the story and from those who have never heard of/seen the original speelunkers ride. Where to begin ... it starts with pirates but ends with pointy eared aliens??? Didn't get the story line at all. But worst was that I came away with a broken wrist. My husband lost his balance getting out since the ride never stops completely. I reached out to offer my hand but he fell and landed on my wrist which then struck the top of the cart. He landed on the track and no employee had the presence of mind to shut the ride OFF. So, there we are ... me with a broken wrist and my husband laying on the track that is still moving. Thankfully he did not get injured. Employees seriously need more training! No employee even asked...
