The front desk staff, particularly the front office manager, demonstrated exceptional customer service during my stay at this property. However, regrettably, I experienced several issues during my visit that have left me with an overall negative impression of the establishment. This was my second stay at this location, and on both occasions, I encountered problems. During my first visit some years ago, I was chased by a dog and had to seek refuge by jumping onto the front desk counter, despite the owner's assurance that the dog did not bite. During my most recent stay, I paid a fee to check-in early and requested a poolside view room, which I did not receive initially (335). However, the hotel staff was accommodating and promptly changed our room upon request. Although a tree obstructed the pool view from the new room, we decided not to move again (301). Unfortunately, the room was in a deplorable condition, with evidence of leftover food, hair in the sink and on the toilet, and candy stuck to the nightstand table. We brought this to the attention of the front desk, and they promised to clean the room while we were out. Upon our return, the room was still not clean, causing further frustration. We were relocated to another room (635), which also did not provide a pool view. Although the hotel advertised the sixth floor as a pet-free, business-level, we discovered that this was not entirely accurate, as a resident sneaked in their dog through the back door. Additionally, the hotel hosted the Ruff Ryder biker club for their annual meeting, which resulted in overcrowding, noise pollution, and general disturbance to other guests. The biker group hosted a meet and greet event in the parking lot, which resulted in loud music and motorcycle revving, leading to a more unpleasant stay. The hotel advertised an early breakfast start time of 5:30 am; however, when we visited the breakfast area at 6 am on Sunday or Monday, the attendant informed us that breakfast was not ready as she had to run both the kitchen and the front desk. Although the GM, Bill, had his contact information displayed throughout the hotel for guest concerns, I did not reach out to him as I was eager to leave the property due to the numerous issues encountered. In summary, while the front desk staff, particularly the front office manager, provided exceptional service, the issues encountered during my stay have left me with an unfavorable impression of the La Quinta Inn brand, regardless of location.
You would come out cheaper just going to Super 8 or Motel 6 and get the same or probably better quality than...
Read moreHotel was incredibly close to Six flags and we were going to take the shuttle we called about but decided against it as no one ever told us we'd be charged. We called two different times about it days before we were to arrive and they said it was free with our room. LIARS. Dsliked that the gym had windows to look into as you workout. The pool was amazing but the patio furniture was wobbly and old and almost blew over with the wind. We reserved a specific room but received something else completely. My husband has bad ankles and can't stand for long so I don't know why they would completely disregard our need for a mobility room that has a seat in the shower or a removable shower head. And they need more hooks and bars for towels as they had only one small one for the sink and one hook on the door. Breakfast was amazing. They had so many options and was honestly the best part of the stay along with the helpful and very kind staff despite us walking in on some drama with a staff member telling another, "What? You're going to fire me again!?" With his arms thrown up. The elevator didn't work for a bit so we had to take the stairs. And the people there were insolent morons. Not the staff but other hotel guests. Apparently it's a thing to be as loud as you possibly can and have every single call on speaker. This was as early as 5am to 1 am. Someone was on their phone on speaker walking the entire floor for an entire hour. A few guests were drunk; slamming doors and shouting. I know they can hear everything as well as the walls are thin so why act like complete inconsiderate idiots? The O-zone bar & grill was an HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. EVERYTHING was overcooked. The salsa was cheap. Tasted exactly like the tostitos salsa. The queso was not hot nor warm and was bland. The chips was soooo hard, overcooked/burnt and greasy. Tenders was overcooked and the cheese fries was sooooo dry. It comes with jalapeños and bacon bits but was completely flavorless; was not spicy or cheesy and the cheese was hard and only on the very top. And I thought room service was exactly what it sounds like. Service to your room. Nope. We had to go down and get it which I wouldn't mind if anything was edible or at least seasoned. I don't blame them for being open only two hours and seemingly the bar always open. You have to be intoxicated to eat there and find it good. All in all we'd stay there again (just not as long) for how close it is to Six flags, clean, the staff and the...
Read moreOne star because we found a bed bug crawling on the pillow of our room and ants on the air conditioner unit in our room across from us (kid room). I called Management immediately and they came right away to inspect the bed bug. They were very nice, understanding and apologetic but we refused to stay. They offered a new room to us but it did nothing for our peace of mind so we decided to leave. Management understood and assured me that we would get our money back but not at that time. The room "hold charge" on TWO rooms would not come off for 2 business days. This was Saturday and as anyone who travels knows...adding the expense of TWO MORE ROOMS was tough financially and a huge let down to the kids who were excited about their own room and of course 6 flags. Now I do want to point out that the staff was amazing, kind and understanding. The location of the hotel is outstanding and the shuttle service to and from the park is awesome. Sadly we didn't get to use the service or stay more for 3 hours so I cannot give an accurate review, however please be advised. To the owner, bed bugs happen. Thank you for emailing me and apologizing. Your staff was super dooper friendly and kind. Great staff! But May I please suggest that the staff get trained to handle this specific situation and how to avoid the "hold charge"? Traveling is expensive (as we ALL know) and it would have been so much easier if we had the "room hold charge" credited back ASAP. It's Tuesday and still no money back. I called to speak to the MOD but had he was unavailable. I understand that what happened is not the hotels fault as bed bugs hitchhike but paying $300 to be there 3 hours and to discover a bed bug was a HUGE VACATION LET DOWN and drain on our resources. Please make advances to avoid another family from having to scrape financially while on vacation. Also, please offer luggage fumigation, clear bags to cover luggage and reading material to guests to educate themselves on this epidemic. I wouldn't see it as a "black mark" on a hotel that puts my family's well being, health and overall peace of mind ABOVE their own reputation....
