Need a pet friendly place in Ashland to attend a few plays, shop and eat. Found this place last second. We usually stay at a B & B, Major Hotels or a vacation rental. Asked for a early check in as our play was at 1330h and needed a place for the pet while we attended the play. Arrive a little earlier that the check in time (did email them to get a early check if possible) and they accommodated us. Yeah.||||Staff was friendly and our room was ready. Dropped the pet off and grabbed a quick lunch. Proceeded to see the play and came back to the motel. It is a "motel" and NOT a "hotel". Basic services. ||||They are in the process of remodeling the rooms. Our room (unite #10) was not yet updated and had a coffee maker and dorm type refrigerator. It was located away from downtown and close to two places for breakfast. Only tried the Breadboard Rest (this one is good). Did not try the one next to the place. There is a mini market near the motel for the late night junk food (as expected, you pay for the convenience).||||Back to the room. The towels are how can I say, Clean but definitely not the "plush" and "luxurious" types. They are however functional. The bed was comfortable and we had a great night's sleep. The window coverings don't block out the porch light (for safety and security) nor the early morning sun so just be aware if you are a super light sleeper sensitive to the light. You can't beat the price. The distance to downtown is reasonable and one could job into town. Would I walk it, I would but my spouse has a challenge with walking that far so we drive to the theater, shopping and to eat.||||Oh yeah, coming out of the motel driveway, one has to take a left out onto Main Street towards town. There are a couple of lights each direction to help your turn, but certain times of the day, it can be challenging so be patient as an opening will emerge or just go right and turn around.||||Parking is interesting in that some spots are parallel and some are straight in. If you have a large truck this may be an issue. If you have a trailer, this will definitely be an issue.||||One thing is our room had carpeting and they use a LOT of deodorizer so we had to air the room out a bit. The new rooms do not have carpet so that should. help with the need for the deodorizer and truthfully, it will be easier for them to clean. Bring a pair of slippers.||||Again, it is a "motel" NOT a five start "Hotel". ||||Bottom line, would I come...

Read moreMy parents booked a room here through hotels.com for two nights (had an email confirmation). We were informed that the hotel only had them booked for one night and needed my parents to vacate. My father is disabled, and our flight back to LA wasn’t until the next morning. We were working with the hotel manager, who did apologize several times and could see our frustration about the matter; however, I did not feel that she was being genuine and didn’t really take the mix up seriously. She was only concerned with defending herself and her establishment, and almost trying to make us feel guilty by booking through a third party. I do agree that hotels.com is to blame in part; however, this should have been confirmed at the check in process as opposed to checkout. The manager did try to make arrangements with the staff to try to get us a room, but I was not happy with her overall demeanor and attitude so I booked a much more comfortable hotel in Medford right by the airport. I understand that it’s a glitch and accidents happen and she mentioned it’s happened several times this week; despite that, it is her responsibility to reach out to third party booking websites and complain when they are overbooking their property. My parents are older and my dad has limited mobility, this was a very difficult for him to pick up and move to a different town. You need to establish solid and timely problem solving skills if you want to ensure guest...
