Don't waste your time, it's literally a time sink. When we first arrived it took our waitress 15 minutes to come see us and take our drink orders, which was understandable because it was a little busy and we weren't even ready to order, because we were trying to make heads or tails of the menu. She said she'd be back to come get our orders in a bit and we didn't see her for over 25 minutes. When she came back and took our orders, we asked if it was possible for her to separate our checks, because we were a party of six with people who only had cards. She said that wouldn't be a problem. She noticed we had our tickets out to go see a play right after dinner and assured us that our food would get to us before we had to leave to catch the performance. Instead of making sure our order was put in pronto, we saw her go in and chat it up with a few tables before heading to the kitchen. We then waited another 45 minutes to get our food. This gave us about five minutes to eat our overpriced food. Also she didn't even bring out all of our food, one of our party just sat there and watched as we shoveled food into our empty bellies. We finally said to get her food in a box and give us the checks and lo and behold it was all on ONE check, and not separated. What a shocker! The whole time we were waiting to order and to get our food we noticed she was spending plenty of time with the smaller tables. This honestly made it seem that because we were a party of six and she would get an 18% gratuity no matter what, that we could get ignored because she needed to give the smaller tables...
Read moreI’ve been going to Kobe for 20 years. It used to be great. But now the price is out of hand. Paying this much I would expect the best quality fish and an actual sushi chef. Not what seems a couple of college kids making sushi.
Unfortunately, i can't respond to the reply. So here it is.
Not only the person making sushi was a white young (25-30) lady. So definitely not a sushi chef. But there's no way you will tell me your quality is great. You obviously never experienced high quality sushi. Or even Omakase. I'm a fisherman so please don't come and tell me you know about high quality fish. Also, just the fact that you come here and argue with me is a testament of who you are. If you would've gone to hospitality courses. You would know that you never argue with a customer. Istead, you say something like. "We are sorry we were not to your expectation. Please give us the chance to redeem ourselves". Again, at those prices. I would expect you to have a real sushi chef and know how to treat customers. I paid $300 for 3 people at your place. I can eat at AKIKOS or Juni in San...
Read moreDefinitely our favorite sushi place in the area; lots of variety, creativity, etc. They also shine with the non-sushi offerings....seriously delicious food. Deducted a star for the service. Not by the waitstaff, who are always great, but the reservation system (or lack thereof). It's very disappointing to make a reservation two weeks in advance for New Year's eve, get excited for the yummy food you're going to enjoy, dress up, only to call and confirm before heading down and be told they have no record of it, no phone number, no name, nothing (VERY glad we called ahead though before traveling) and they are completely booked solid. Every place is booked by that point, so I think we ended up having pizza or something...but GET THIS...after we got that, like two hours later someone else calls and asks if we'll be making our reservation (which I guess they'd had the whole time?!?!) as we hadn't shown up yet. Huh? Wanted to deduct more than a star for that but can't in good conscience due to the...
