Update 4/23 Brie (like the cheese) was so pleasant and friendly! She asked about me, provided authentic feedback and took my complicated order w/o issue. You don’t see this level of customer service, anymore! 🍵
12/22 I have had multiple positive experiences at this tea shop, but today was not one of those days. Indulging in a vegan hot chocolate once or twice a month is an splurge I could not regularly afford.Thinking the cashier and I had hit it off, we were having a pleasant enough discussion when she cut me off abruptly. When I went to pay, though the total bill was about $20 I gave her $25. She condescendingly explained basic math to me, after which I shared that the extra was for a tip. She said something like, “Is the whole thing for me?” I politely asked for ones before excusing myself. Thinking there was an honest miscommunication (Maybe she was having a bad day?), I asked for a number and seated myself. When she finally delivered my to-go order, I bid her a happy birthday. She turned without saying a word and stomped off. Maybe it is typical in Ashland to tip 25%, but that is not an expense that my family can justify…especially after being treated so poorly. One of the previous reviewers said it best: tea is best served...

I have been to Dobra tea twice and both times I had a negative experience with the employees.
The first experience I was told I was not able to place an order despite being 20 minutes away from closing. I chose to purchase dried tea instead. I asked several questions about the tea selection. The woman selling tea was short with me. Ultimately, she let me know that she didn't know the answer to my questions. It was clear our conversation was over. She seemed irritated. I flet rushed out the door and like I was imposing. I thought perhaps she was having a bad evening.
I decided to give the place a second chance. I visited 2 hours before closing. I had a similiar experience. I felt rushed out the door despite there being only a few other customers in the tea house. I went to pay my bill and the same woman behind the counter that was short with me during my previous visit accused me of trying to leave without paying. When I confronted her about her behavior she did not apologize.
The shop has amazing potential, the atmosphere is intimate and unique, but I'm not going back because I didn't like how...
Read moreI've gotten Thai boba tea here years ago and it was on a tall glass and tasted like normal thai sweet tea. After waiting 30 min recently me and my friends received what tasted more like a spicy chai. We asked why it was so spicy and the waitress said she could bring honey out to sweeten it. When we went to pay the woman said we would have to pay for both the small honeys the waitress brought to us. Here's the issue with that. I pointed at our table and told her about how we only received one not two. And that we shouldn't have to pay 3$ for the small honeys because the drinks were very spicy and not sweet at all like normal thai tea. She just said that's how the make it and we would have to pay for the honey. I refused and she finally said she would comp the first one and we would have to pay for the second again. I started to get upset because I'm not sure if she was mentally slow and I don't want to get smart with someone who's mentally challenged but what the heck. We ended up paying for the one because she wouldn't let it go. Dog...
