My family and I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the Ramblin Rogue escape room, and it was nothing short of phenomenal! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was immersive, transporting us straight into the Wild West. The intricate details of the set design, from the rustic saloon doors to the bull horns, created a captivating environment that set the stage for an exhilarating adventure.

Our game master, Lionel, was stellar. Young and energetic, he perfectly embodied the spirit of the Old West, down to his southern accent, guiding us with just the right amount of hints to keep us on track without giving anything away. His enthusiasm was contagious, and his dedication to ensuring we had a memorable experience was evident from start to finish.

The puzzles themselves were cleverly designed, challenging yet fair, and required a great deal of teamwork and creativity. Each clue we uncovered felt like a genuine discovery, making the experience all the more rewarding. The storyline was engaging and well thought out, seamlessly blending with the western theme to keep us engrossed throughout the entire hour.

Overall, this escape room was a standout experience. Really Great Fun! This was our very first experience in an escape room. I’d won a pair of tickets in a story-telling contest, so my husband and I decided to apply them to our Happy December play date. Since we both spend time in Texas, we felt drawn to the Ramblin’ Rogue Saloon game. Naturally, I did a little preliminary research about escape rooms, so I knew to expect puzzles and code deciphering. When we arrived, our host, Hannah, dressed in 1880s style, cheerfully explained the process. We were being blamed for a crime we didn’t commit, to be locked in a small jail cell and discover clues that would lead us out and eventually clear our names. The saloon is carefully decorated – so well that it felt like we were in a museum. “We’re too polite!” we kept saying, somewhat ambivalent about rifling through other peoples’ belongings. But ransack, you must! The clues that emerge are a compelling mélange of codes, problem solving, and the delight that comes with figuring things out together. Hannah, as the bartender, softly suggested clues when we got stuck. This was a unique and very fun escape experience. The reason it's unique (among the several our family has done) is that your game master is in the room with you. Without giving anything away, I'll say that you actually interact with them a little bit for the event, but more importantly they are there to make small comments that aren't direct clues, but are more like "warmer/colder". They are also there to offer real clues if needed, but it's nice that you don't have to go to some intercom and ask for them.

More importantly, the variety of ways in which you find clues and release important objects is clever and engaging. There is enough stuff to find/do to keep a family of 4 occupied for most of the hour. Only towards the end of the escape does it boil down to a single line of attack, so not everyone can participate. But by then, you've all done enough to feel accomplished.
