This is where we will always try first to stay in Ashland. We’ve had several mediocre experiences at various Ashland hotels and B&Bs, which has left us with a somewhat bittersweet feeling about staying here. We love the town, restaurants and trails, but couldn’t find a hotel we loved….UNTIL NOW! Yay! This place is gorgeous, thoughtful, unique, extremely clean (and I mean EXTREMELY clean) and extraordinarily attended by, during our stay, the hotel manager. We loved that the rooms were uniquely decorated without being cheesy or distasteful. We felt like we were staying in an authentic Italian (we stayed in the Sienna room) B & B with very cool, tasteful, unique deco but also “neat as a pin “ (as my granny would say). It’s the first place I’ve truly felt comfortable in Ashland with regard to walking barefoot in the room, enjoying the soaking tub, using the beautiful dishes and kitchenware as if I were at home. So great. The manager, Jeff, was just flawless. We loved chatting with him at breakfast, which was incredible and perfectly in line with the, admittedly sort of picky, nearly vegan options we requested. When I let him know our food preferences upon booking, I expected a vegan muffin or something decent, but small. Instead, we had a breakfast fit for kings perfectly suited to our preferences! Thank you so much for the effort and execution! Thanks, also, for a wonderful place to stay and to recommend to friends. We will be back every time we can expect to stay two nights. (That’s my only complaint…we often stay one night on the way up and down the coast visiting family , and a two night minimum seems to be the norm here.) That said, now that we have a wonderful place to stay, two nights seems like...
Read moreWe have stayed at inns and hotels all over the world. Our experience at the Ashland Creek Inn ranks in the Top Ten - worldwide! Beginning with the theme of our room, the Devon Suite, all of the furnishings were curated with an uncanny eye for detail, making us feel as though we were actually in England. This suite has two balconies overlooking Ashland Creek. Due to the heavy snows this winter, recent snowmelt meant that the creek was running full and fast, and its gentle burbling sound was a perfect way to drift off to sleep. The beds are extremely comfortable. There is a tasty little in-house baked treat placed on the table inside the door each day. While Lunch and Dinner are not served (Don't worry, there are plenty of other venues in Ashland for those meals) the Breakfast is outstanding, uses locally sourced ingredients, and leaves you full and satisfied. Located on a very quiet side street, there is virtually no traffic noise, and yet multiple restaurants, shops, galleries, theaters, and even Lithia Park, are all within walking distance. Innkeeper and Owner Graham obviously loves his job,. He is friendly, hospitable, and can carry on a conversation on just about any topic. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Ashland Creek Inn during our visit, and we STRONGLY recommend that you...
Read moreOur first time here, and we are ready to come back. Everything is wonderful. The outside is charming, with a little French country facade. The inn sits beside the Ashland Creek, with an infinite number of cascades, and there are lots of trees that line the banks, providing privacy, shade, and sunshine that peeks through. It is just a couple of blocks from the main street, lined with shops and a large variety of charming restaurants, and is in easy walking distance of the theatres.
Each room has a different theme of an important world city. Ours was Edinburgh. It is beautifully appointed with European antiques, framed traditional pictures, and decorative period pieces. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed and large bath full-sized tub with shower. We thoroughly enjoyed the large deck with a view to the river and trees, plus the koi pond on the streamside large breakfast deck.
A gourmet breakfast is served at nine on the deck and brick patio, with the option of eating in the dining room. Every dish is beautifully plated and delicious. No one misses the breakfast. The owners are ready to accommodate special needs whenever possible and are very helpful in locating interesting sites, shops, restaurants, wineries.
We can hardly wait to return to this...
