Disappointed would be an understatement. To begin with I feel the information listed on the official locations website is misleading. The motel IS NOT WITHIN WALKING NORMAL WALKING DISTANCE TO THE CONGRESS WORLD TRADE CENTER. 2. THERE IS NOT EVEN A SAFE PLACE TO PARK WHILE ATTEMPTING TO GET CHECKED IN, MUST PARK IN THE STREET TRAFFIC AREA ILLEGALLY, JUST TO CHECK IN, 3. MY FIRST CHECK IN TOOK A RATHER LENGTHY TIME FRAME, ( THE GUESS CHECKING IN BEFORE ME HAD A LONG AND SOMEWHAT HEATED DISCUSSION WHILE SHE WAS OBJECTING TO PAYING FOR HER PARKING) YES I SAID MY FIRST CHECK IN FOR MY FIRST ASSIGNED ROOM # 319, I THEN DROVE OVER TO MY CONVENTION SINCE THE CHECK IN CLERK SAID THE WALK WOULD BE ABOUT THIRTY MINUTES OR SO. RETURNED AT 6:37PM ATTEMPTED TO TO ENTER MY ASSIGNED ROOM OF #319 BUT THE YOUNG LADY THAT WAS ALREADY ASSIGNED THAT ROOM WAS NOT HAPPY AT ALL THE MYSELF AND MY FRIEND JOHN WAS TRYING TO ENTER HER ROOM EVEN THOUGH OUR KEYS OPENED HER DOOR AND THAT WAS ALSO OUR ASSIGNED ROOM , AS WELL. THAT WAS AN EMBARRESSING AND ARKWARK / POSSIBLE DANGEROUES SITUATION TO SAY THE LEAST. SO ANOTHER LONG CHECK / RE-CHECK IN PROCESS , THIS TIME WE WERE ASSIGNED ROOM 219. SO WHILE STANDING IN THE LOBBY AGAIN I LOOKED AT THE MOTELS WEBSITE AND THEN NOTICED THE CHOICE OFFICIAL ROOM RATES WERE 40$ LESS ON THE ACTUAL DAY OF MY CHECK IN THAN THE "SO CALLED" BEST MEMBER RATES QUOTES AND CHARGES I HAD JUST PAID 3 HOURS BEFORE THAT. I THEN REALIZED. I HAD BEEN " PRICE ROBBED " BECAUSE OF THE CONVENTION. I HAD JUST PAID 191$ FOR MY ROOM BUT ANY ONE WALKING IN OFF THE STREET WAS BEING CHARGED 132$ FOR THE SAME ROOM ON THE SAME DAY OF THEIR STAY BEFORE TAXES. AMAZING. THANKS CHOICE PROGRAM FOR REFRESHING MY MEMORY FOR WHY I STOPPED USING YOUR PROGRAM FOR A LONG TIME. I THINK I HAVE NOW HAD ENOUGH OF THESE MIX UPS, PRINTER/ COPY ISSUES, ETC. ETC. WITH THAT SAID. I MORNING MEAL WAS GREAT WITH A LARGE SELECTION OF ITEMS TO CHOOSE FROM. THE PARKING ACROSS THE STREET WAS " ONLY" 25$ AND I DID NOT HAVE TO PREPAY BEFORE I PARKED LIKE THE HOTEL STAFF REQUIRES IN YOUR SMALL GARAGE. THIS IS MOTEL IS A RELIC OF THE PAST, AND I FEEL NOW SO IS THE CHOICE PROGRAM FOR ME, I FEEL I WILL MOST LIKELY NOW RETURN TO THE HOLIDAY INN BRAND. I know as the saying goes" you get what you pay for" however is this motel case, I did not even come close to getting the service I paid for nor the accomadations that your official site lists. So this review should be labeled, SMOKE AND MIRRORS, NOTHING MORE NOTHING LESS. BY THE WAY; WHAT IS UP WITH ALL THE INDIVIDUALS WALKING THE STREETS DAY AND NIGHT THAT APPEAR TO BE WITHOUT A PLACE TO STAY OR MAYBE HOMELESS? THIS AREA IS NOT SAFE AT ALL. ESPECIALLY FOR ANYONE THAT IS NOT ARMED , SO YOUNG LADIES AVOID THIS AREA, WE HAD A FEW LIKE, ASK US TO STAND BY THEM UNTIL A TAXI / UBER ARRIVED TO DISCOURAGE THOSE YOUNG MALES FROM APPOACHING THEM. Whoever did the photography for this hotel did a great job because I definitely did not expect what I got. This place is NOT a 3 star hotel. While trying to go up to the room, another guest warned me they'd gotten stuck in one of the elevators earlier. The front desk staff is acceptable but offers no information. Staff gave no info on check in about amenities such as WiFi or breakfast; breakfast is a cereal bar or a banana. They have bottles of water you have to ask for. Don't expect a warm welcoming or any helpful details. Bare minimum service provided. No one tells you and there is no signage, but housekeeping is not cleaning rooms during your stay. I stayed here with a group, and my colleagues reported some of the following: potential blood on the sheets, holes in the ceiling, walkways on higher up floors out, and a broken sink drain. Housekeeping was still cleaning a room one checked into at 8:30pm. My room had mold in the bathroom and the shower curtain served no purpose as there was no way to keep the water in the shower no matter how you moved it. The place is going through renovations, and that is evident but the scaffolding and construction equipment everywhere and noise. The power got knocked out one night for a few minutes, and I could hear people trying to figure out how to fix it. Nothing more relaxing than construction work going on at 11pm. I would not stay here again. I gave it 2 stars instead of one because frankly, I've had worse. I got lucky in my room and the sheets were clean enough. Notes on the area: not the nicest, and not a lot to do. Don't go walking alone. The restaurants in the area close pretty early. If you are coming to Atlanta and want to stay downtown and walk places, pick a different hotel. Heck, just pick a different hotel.

I just returned from my Atlanta trip in which I stayed at the Inn at Peachtree. I have stayed in many hotels and this experience was not satisfactory.. I'm going to give you my experience from day one and yes, I have photos. Upon entering the facility, the first thing I noticed was contruction doing on everywhere. At first I didn't think it was inside but, to my disappointment it was. When I checked in and went to my room, I was not happy. The room was danky.. My curtain was hanging down on the right side and the lights on either side of the bed didn't work.. Thinking the bulb was out, I called the front desk and mentioned the issue.. At first he said nothing. Then ask me would like him to bring me two bulbs! I snapped back, That would be nice-yes! He arrived 20 minutes later. After changing the bulbs, neither light work in which he offered to change my room. I was moved two floors up to a satisfactory room.. Outside my door, construction workers banged, sanded, pounded, drilled, painted.. If you wanted to rest, it was impossible.. The walkways to the elevators were covered in spankle dust with parts of the ceiling in areas cut open exposing ducts, and piping. The construction went on every day I was there and I'm very sure it's continuing.. I contacted Choice Hotels Customer service to inform them of the issue and ask can I shorten my proposed stay. They informed me due that I prepaid, I cannot and would have to negotiate with management there if I wanted to check out early. I didn't get a vibe that the manager on duty would do such a thing. I don't recommend staying here unless you are desperate for a place to lay your head.. If you are looking for quality, comfort, quiet then this would not be the place for you and your family.

A REAL DETAILED REVIEW

I booked this for a couples getaway for August 23rd thru the 27th. We got off our flight around 9 am on the 23rd and I called the hotel to ask if they had a shuttle. they dont the lady was very short, not rude but also not interested in what you had to day either. I asked her if they could lock up our bags until check in and she said they couldn't lock them up but they would put them behind the desk and then launched off into a curt speech about an extra 50 dollars to check in early. We caught an Uber to the hotel. The area is rough and overrun with homeless people with substance use issues and drug dealers in the park but that isn't the hotels fault but it is worth taking note of. The hotel doors are locked 24/7 so you need to be buzzed in or have a key card. We walked in to get them to hold our bags and before I could even say that the woman with very Bold makeup said they had no rooms available started with the 50 dollars to check in early thing again, It was around 10 am. She doesn't really let you get a word in edgewise so when she finally went to take a breath I said I called and need you to hold our bags. She started saying if we paid 50 dollars we could check in early so did they have rooms or not? No one knows. Finally the assistant Mgr calls us over and tells us to come back around 1. We ended up walking to the hub with the mgrs directions. Hung out there then walked back around 12:30. When we got there the bold makeup woman was alone... she started saying there was no rooms available for my "special requests and I'd have to wait til 3 now". I never even batted an eye, raised my voice NOTHING and she says let me get my manager. A man with glasses comes out and stands over me and starts LOUDLY telling me how I just have to wait and that it was an estimated time of 1 p.m. etc I just stared at him incredulously and then calmly said ok I'm not pressed. He then went back to the desk where they for some reason started discussing whatever and found that there was an error and it had me listed as needing a handicap room. They clarified that I didn't need a handicap room and checked me in. NOWHERE does it mention their 100 dollar deposit.. I paid thar went to the room. It was NO FRILLS and kind of reminds me of a 70s movie decor wise but the bed was comfy. However, the furniture was damaged, the toilet paper holder was broken and the tp kept falling on the floor, the back of the toilet leaked and the tp got wet. The shower sprays all over and the fixture has seen better days. When we didn't have tp my boyfriend went down to ask Natasha if we could get more and she told us there wasn't anymore tp so we ended up having to use the boxed tissues. The breakfast was pretty good BUT ladies serving it had attitudes and were constantly slamming everything like they were mad at the guests. It is a 10 minute walk to Georgia Aquarium and coca cola factory as well as many other attractions. There is a quite a mixed crowd AND lots of police around. All in all would I stay here again, not sure, possibly but there is probably better options for similar price points. If you just need a place to lay your head this will work. If you're looking for glitz and glam, this...

EDIT/UPDATE:

The owner or someone working for the hotel responded to this with the same "we'll fix this right away this isn't up to our standards, we're sorry" response that I've come to expect. I looked back on prior reviews (going back as far as a year) and they all say essentially the same thing as my review (this place is awful) and the hotel account says "we'll fix this". So clearly, they're just saying "we'll fix this" while taking no real action to solve the underlying issues. I have no idea how this place still has a 3.2 star rating. It's truly horrible and on top of that they're dishonest both about the hotel (pics are lies), and about fixing the issues that get reported on here.

Original Post:

This is one of the worst places I've ever stayed in and I've traveled the world pretty extensively. The room (315) was not fully cleaned when i arrived and smelled strongly of mold/musty. There was someone else's hair all over the toilet and half the lamps didn't work. Worst of all, the mini fridge was leaking water all over the carpet and there were a bundle of power chords sitting in the puddle. Obviously this is pretty unsafe and also probably why the room smelled really musty and gross. I was in the room for 3 nights and the room was never cleaned/towels not replaced. I flew in for the MBA veterans conference and decided to stay here based on close proximity to the conference center and it was. The area is a bit sketchy. I never felt unsafe but I could definitely see others not loving the area for this reason. I was in the Army so I just toughed it out by my buddy who also stayed here switched hotels because his wife came with him and he couldn't have her at a spot like this.

The place is doing a remodel so I was woken up at 8am this morning by hammers pounding literally right outside my window (wanted a nice sleep in after working hard through the conference). When I left the room there was caution tape around everything and they'd been ripping plaster out right outside my room so the outdoor hallway was trashed. Like I get it it's construction work but it's wild they wouldn't offer a room switch or anything.

The MBA Veterans conference was two full days where i didn't even have time to complain about these issues and usually i like to give people a chance to fix things before dropping a review like this but it wasn't really an option for me in this case unfortunately. I hope the remodeling goes well and this spot can recover but it is in a really really poor spot at the moment and I strongly discourage staying there.

Edit: I don't like to accuse people of things with no real evidence but I don't know how it's possible for this place not to be across the board 1 star ratings and I think it's possible many of the high rating reviews aren't real. I would also say that all "photos" of the place provided by the hotel are so unreflective of the current reality that...
