Nestled in the heart of downtown Atlanta, Pemberton Place is a vibrant 20-acre plaza that combines history, fun, and education, making it a top destination for families with children. Named after John Pemberton, the inventor of Coca-Cola, the area has undergone a transformation from a declining neighborhood to a thriving cultural and tourist hub.
Pemberton Place is situated on land that once encompassed ten city blocks of small businesses and residences. By the 1960s, the area had declined, but its transformation began in the 1990s as part of Atlanta’s revitalization for the 1996 Olympic Games. Coca-Cola purchased and developed the property into Coca-Cola Olympic City. After the Olympics, the company donated the land to create Pemberton Place—an inviting space for world-class attractions and family-friendly experiences.

Read moreWe bought parking with the ticket and I'm glad we did. The lot fills up. There was a long walk from the covered lot to the aquarium. It would have been wheelchair accessible. You need to make your ticket purchase online so you can reserve your time. We went to the two shows included in the ticket price. The Dolph show seats a thousand or more people and is very good. Be mindful where you sit for both shows. The seats are marked because the animals LOVE to splash the audience. The walrus show was also very enjoyable and seats fewer people. I would arrive 20 min early for the show because many seats are ubstructed by pillars supporting the structure. This was a very enjoyable venue, unlike any other aquarium I have ever been to. It is a bit difficult to take pictures of the marine life. The lighting makes everything look blue when the actual scenes have vivid color. The tickets are a bit pricey. There is food available there. You order through your phone and are notified when to pick up your order. We only stayed a little over three hours. We were able to see all we wanted in that time. We chose to eat at a restaurant elsewhere. It was...
Read moreGa Aquarium is a great tourist attraction. The largest of its kind in the U.S. A very educational and fun experience for all. Be sure to download their app to up date you on show schedules, special events, and tours behind the scenes. Tickets general admission around 39.00 per adult but they also have early bird specials and other coupon offers so check around and plan ahead. A lot of the specials have to be purchased at least a day ahead online. Lowest crowd levels are generally on Wednesdays. Peak days are weekends and lines can be long. Also be advised no outside food or drinks but they have a cafeteria with salad bar and cold pasta (pay by pound) and a hot bar with burgers, pizza, chicken tenders and hot dogs. Unfortunately the prices are expensive! 13.95 for grilled chicken sandwich and fries...the pizza wasn't very good at all. Hot dogs were good as were the fries and the cold pasta salad. The dolphin show was excellent so make sure you catch a viewing. Be advised that when they say the first 10 rows are the soak zone, they are not kidding. You WILL...
