You should only go here if you are desperate. I have lived in the same building for years and I just happen to be a ticket broker. Many years ago one of the employees said to me, when I expressed my surprise at their incredibly high prices, "you scalp tickets, we scalp booze".
I actually get it, they are on the corner across from the major convention hotels, in what no one calls the hotel district, and the business travelers and tourists just shrug their shoulders and pay their prices.
With that said, I recently, had been years, went in to check out how things were going under new ownership and I asked about the price of a bottle of rum and the employee just obviously made up a price off the top of his head. Funny.
My recommendation for a much better price would be to either get it delivered by Drizly or to jump on Marta, $5 round-trip, and go to Mac's Beer and Wine which is a 2-minute walk from the Midtown Station. That is a 30 minute trip, tops, even with the time it takes to buy your Marta ticket. Mac's has a great selection, pretty big store, the employees know their liquor and can make great recommendations and the prices are more than fair. It is my regular liquor store even though I rarely...
Read moreThe prices at this store are EGREGIOUS. They are so high and disparate from all the other liquor stores in the area that I question what's really going on here. For example, they are asking $70 for a bottle of Weller Special Reserve that is available for $26 at a myriad of stores within a 2 mile radius. They post pictures of Pappy to entice customers to come into their store, but their price ($8,000 for a bottle that has a MSRP of $200) shows they have no intention of actually selling it. It's not just their bourbons; all the liquors are priced 200%-400% higher than all other stores in Atlanta. Something is shady here. You'll notice that their 5 star reviews come from reviewers with only 1 review written. I wonder why that is? Red flags everywhere that this...
Read moreI was running late getting home from work and looking for place to stop that was still open for a nice potato vodka. The staff pointed me towards Born and Bred which is a good quality vodka but i gawked at the $50 price tag (for a medium sized bottle especially) they offered me a discount and gave me 10% off at the register. I was still surprised at the price but i was very tired and too nice to back out so i made my purchase and left. Upon reaching my home i looked this brand up out of curiosity and noticed that most liquor stores sell this very bottle at 22-25$ each. So basically i paid double the price for no reason at all. As I was leaving several bums tried to beg alcohol/money off me.... this place is a dump i would avoid it...
