My husband and I had our first experience with the Basilica back in 2022. We were supposed to get married at another church in the area, only to find out they overbooked us. We had already sent out save the dates and put a downpayment on a reception venue nearby. With 5 months before our wedding date, we frantically reached out to the Basilica. The date was available and they were extremely accommodating and helpful, even allowing us to use the priest from the other church. We had a beautiful ceremony thanks to the help of the coordinator, the flower guild, the organist, and everybody else involved.

Read moreFor the "walking tourist" on their way to Midtown, when you leave the Hard Rock cafe, walk up Peachtree Center Ave instead of Peachtree street. Especially on a hot day. That street is cooled by the tall buildings and trees and a lot less people.
You will arrive at this Basilica in 5 minutes. It is across the street from Suntrust towers on Peachtree Center Ave. Sit down on the granite wall under the refreshing and beautiful tree lined sidewalk with a fountain spraying water and enjoy the peacefulness as you look at this beautiful church. You can't help but appreciate the devotion it took to build this many years ago.

It had the atmosphere that I really love for a good church. Yes there are cathedrals and other things around but this building is 125 years old and beautiful. It's somewhat plain painting on the outside betrays the beauty of the inside. But what's more important to me is the atmosphere of faith contained within those walls.
